Nick Young plays 27 mins in blowout loss 01-22-2017
Nick Young F LAL
Nick Young (knee) scored nine points with two rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes on Sunday against the Mavericks. Young, who suffered a hyperextended left knee on Friday, played the second most minutes for the Lakers in a blowout, so his knee appears to be just fine. In the last five games, he has averaged 27.8 minutes, 13.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.0 steal per game. Barring any setbacks he should play his regular allotment of minutes moving forward.
Jeremy Lin (hamstring) ruled out for Monday 01-22-2017
Jeremy Lin G BKN
Jeremy Lin (hamstring) won't play vs. the Spurs on Monday.

Anthony Puccio on Twitter
Lin has missed 31 games and counting, after missing just 23 games prior to this season during his NBA career. There's no indication of when he might get back on the court, and his absence could be due to more than just his hamstring injury, so he's a hard guy to hold without an IR spot.
Andrew Bogut is close to returning 01-22-2017
Andrew Bogut C DAL
Andrew Bogut (hamstring) could be cleared to play later this week.

Sports Day on Twitter
Bogut has missed the last six games for the Mavericks due to the hamstring injury, but he's reportedly likely to go through at least one practice before Wednesday's game. "Like Dirk [Nowitzki] and J.J. Barea on their most recent comebacks, we got to get him on the court for some practice time before we put him in a game," said coach Rick Carlisle. Bogut's return will cut into Salah Mejri and could move Dirk Nowitzki back to the power forward position.
Seth Curry hits 6-of-8 shots for 14 points 01-22-2017
Seth Curry G DAL
Seth Curry went 6-of-8 from the field during Sunday's blowout win over the Lakers, on his way to 14 points, two boards, two 3-pointers, three assists, one steal and one turnover. Curry had the hot hand early, and he didn't even miss his first shot until midway through the second quarter. The Mavs ended the first half with a season-high 29-point lead, and finished the game with a franchise-best 49-point deficit in the win. As for Curry, he's jumped into the mid-round equation over the past month, and he could be looking at a more active role in the offense if Wesley Matthews (hip) is forced to miss any time. He's worth owning in most leagues.
Luol Deng (wrist) scores 9 points in 19 mins 01-22-2017
Luol Deng F LAL
Luol Deng (wrist) was back in the starting lineup following a two-game stint on the sidelines and produced nine points, two boards, two blocks and one 3-pointer in 19 minutes. The low minute total can be attributed to the blowout nature of the game, although Deng's minutes could start trending south as Larry Nance is brought back into the rotation. On the season, Deng ranks outside the top-150, and there won't be much incentive for Luke Walton to prioritize his playing time towards the second half of the year with guys like Brandon Ingram and Nance in need of developmental minutes. In other words, Deng isn't a very attractive pickup in most settings.
Jordan Clarkson hits 5-of-13 shots for 10 pts 01-22-2017
Jordan Clarkson G LAL
Jordan Clarkson struggled like the rest of the Lakers on Sunday, scoring 10 points on 5-of-13 shooting to go with three boards, two turnovers and nothing else in 25 minutes. D'Angelo Russell (knee) is going to spend the next 1-2 weeks on the sidelines, which should help Clarkson see his playing time more consistently in the 30s, so we wouldn't read much into today's uneventful stat line as the Lakers as a whole were simply dreadful. Clarkson owners can anticipate a bounce-back performance with a much more favorable matchup against the Trail Blazers on Wednesday.
Lou Williams scores 15 points off the bench 01-22-2017
Lou Williams G LAL
Lou Williams was the only Laker to surpass 10 points during Sunday's 122-73 blowout loss to the Mavs, tallying 15 points, one 3-pointer, one assist, one steal and two turnovers in 20 minutes. The last time D'Angelo Russell (knee, out 1-2 weeks) missed a lengthy stretch, Sweet Lou jumped to a fifth-round evaluation with averages of 22.5 points, 3.2 dimes, 2.3 triples, 1.0 steal and 2.5 turnovers a night on 44.3 percent shooting. He also had a 40-point, and 38-point performance during that 11 game span, seeing his usage rate jump to 31.9 and his minutes rise to the high-20s, so he's clearly the primary beneficiary sans Russell.
Larry Nance (knee) logs 10 mins off the bench 01-22-2017
Larry Nance F LAL
Larry Nance (knee) logged 10 minutes off the bench in his return from a 15-game absence on Sunday, registering four points, one rebound, one block and one turnover. Nance is going to be brought along slowly after missing the past month of action, but he's someone to keep an eye on. He's been a sneaky late-round guy on the year with averages of 7.0 points, 5.5 boards, 1.3 dimes, 1.2 steals, 0.6 blocks and just 0.8 turnovers per game on 58.7 percent shooting, and as one of the building blocks in Los Angeles it would make sense to see him eventually be flirting with minutes in the high-20s. He's a quality deep league stash with mid-round upside.
Justin Anderson scores 19 points in 16 mins 01-22-2017
Justin Anderson G DAL
Justin Anderson scored a career-high tying 19 points on Sunday, adding five boards, two assists, one steal, three 3-pointers and three turnovers in just 16 minutes off the bench. Anderson did most of his damage during the second half of action sans Wesley Matthews (hip), rocking an insane 48.9 usage rate as he went to work against the lethargic Lakers. If Matthews is forced into an extended absence, Anderson could see a nice uptick in minutes, but we'd like to see him do this again against a better team in a game that isn't a ridiculous blowout before recommending him as an add in standard settings.
Seth Curry hits 6-of-8 shots for 14 points 01-22-2017
Stephen Curry G GS
Seth Curry went 6-of-8 from the field during Sunday's blowout win over the Lakers, on his way to 14 points, two boards, two 3-pointers, three assists, one steal and one turnover. Curry had the hot hand early, and he didn't even miss his first shot until midway through the second quarter. The Mavs ended the first half with a season-high 29-point lead and finished the game with a season-best 49-point win (the third-largest victory in Mavs history). As for Curry, he's jumped into the mid-round equation over the past month, and he could be looking at a more active role in the offense if Wesley Matthews (hip) is forced to miss any time. He's worth owning in most leagues.
Dirk Nowitzki hits 5-of-11 shots for 13 pts 01-22-2017
Dirk Nowitzki F DAL
Dirk Nowitzki scored 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting to go with five boards, one assist, one steal, one block, one 3-pointer and one turnover in just 20 minutes of play. This was a solid bounce-back performance following Friday's 1-of-13 shooting disaster, and he also tied J.R. Smith for the 15th spot on the all-time 3-point shooting list in this one. The game was a massive blowout, which helps explain the low minutes for Dirk, but his owners can expect his playing time to return to the upper-20s with a matchup against the Knicks on Wednesday.
Wesley Matthews (hip) expected to play Wed 01-22-2017
Wesley Matthews G DAL
Wesley Matthews (right hip strain) is expected to play vs. the Knicks on Wednesday, according to coach Rick Carlisle.

Bobby Karalla on Twitter
We'll hedge our bets until he's officially cleared to play, but this is still an extremely encouraging report after watching him limp off the court on Sunday. When asked if he'd play vs. the Knicks, he replied, "That's the plan." He benefits from having two days off, and he's known for battling through injuries, so it would be a surprise if he's ultimately ruled out.
Steven Adams (concussion) held to non-contact 01-22-2017
Steven Adams C OKC
Steven Adams (concussion) was limited to non-contact work on Sunday, and his status remains unclear for Monday's game in Utah.

Fred Katz on Twitter
Adams did travel with the team for their road game, which is a good sign, but owners will have to wait until shootaround for another update. OKC has four games next week, so even if Adams sits on Monday he could still have a productive slate.
Harrison Barnes held to six points on Sunday 01-22-2017
Harrison Barnes F DAL
Harrison Barnes was held to just six points on 3-of-12 shooting Sunday, to go with five boards, two assists, one turnover and nothing else through 27 minutes of playing time. Barnes just couldn't buy a bucket, and unfortunately, this lackluster outing snapped his 44-game streak of scoring in double figures. That being said, Barnes has been solid more often than not this season, so his owners can anticipate a bounce-back performance on Wednesday with a matchup against the Knicks.
Norman Powell will come off the bench Sunday 01-22-2017
Norman Powell G TOR
Norman Powell will return to the bench for Sunday's game against the Suns.

Eric Smith on Twitter
Lucas Nogueira (concussion) is back in the starting five, so Powell's minutes could fall back to the teens. He's not a great option in most leagues.
Lucas Nogueira (concussion) starting Sunday 01-22-2017
Lucas Nogueira C TOR
Lucas Nogueira (concussion) is starting Sunday's game vs. Phoenix, with Norman Powell shifting to the bench.

Eric Smith on Twitter
He wound up missing two games with the concussion but should still see solid minutes as a starter tonight, so owners can expect his typical boards, blocks and strong FG percentages.
Danilo Gallinari (ankle) will play on Sunday 01-22-2017
Danilo Gallinari F DEN
Danilo Gallinari (ankle) will play on Sunday, as expected.

Chris Dempsey on Twitter
Gallo was listed as probable, so this isn't a surprise, but his status was worth confirming with Denver in the second half of a back-to-back set. Deploy him as usual tonight.
Deron Williams hands out 8 dimes w/ zero TOs 01-22-2017
Deron Williams G DAL
Deron Williams scored 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting during Sunday's 122-73 blowout win over the Lakers, adding eight assists, five boards, one 3-pointer and zero turnovers in 26 minutes. Williams surpassed Kevin Johnson for the No. 20 spot on all-time assist list in this one, and he now needs just 11 more dimes to pass up Muggsy Bogues for the No. 19 spot. Williams was widely regarded as one of the best point guards in the league during his Utah days, but in 2017 he's past his prime and just clinging to late-round value.
Jameer Nelson starting again w/ Mudiay out 01-22-2017
Jameer Nelson G DEN
Jameer Nelson will start again on Sunday with Emmanuel Mudiay (back) unavailable.

Harrison Wind on Twitter
This was the expected move from Denver, and Nelson is a fine streaming or DFS option until Mudiay gets back on the court. He's coming off game with six points, two rebounds and eight assists in 29 minutes on Saturday.
Will Barton to bench w/ Gary Harris active 01-22-2017
Will Barton F DEN
Will Barton is expected to come off the Nuggets' bench with Gary Harris (ankle) returning on Sunday.

Harrison Wind on Twitter
We've seen Barton return solid value in a reserve role this season, so it's not a reason to cut him, but it does dent his upside. Check back after the game to see how he fared.
Darrell Arthur (leg) available to play Sunday 01-22-2017
Darrell Arthur F DEN
Darrell Arthur (leg) is available to play vs. the Wolves on Sunday.

Kent Youngblood on Twitter
Mike Malone said recently that he'll be watching Arthur's minutes "the rest of the year," and will even limit him in practices. He's unlikely to earn more than a handful of minutes tonight, in other words, and is an extremely dubious fantasy option.
Gary Harris (ankle) will start Sunday vs. MIN 01-22-2017
Gary Harris G DEN
Gary Harris (ankle) will start Sunday's game vs. the Timberwolves.

Chris Dempsey on Twitter
Harris will be returning from a three-game stint on the sidelines, and he'll be on a minutes limit, but he offers enough upside that he should be scooped up in most leagues if he was cut during the injury. Once Harris is fully up to speed, he'll cut into Will Barton and Jamal Murray's minutes.
Ricky Rubio (personal) probable for Tuesday 01-22-2017
Ricky Rubio G MIN
Ricky Rubio (personal) is expected to rejoin the team on Monday, and he will fly with the squad to Phoenix for Tuesday's game against the Suns.

Timberwolves PR on Twitter
Rubio will miss Sunday's game against the Nuggets, but it sounds like this will only end up being a one-game absence due to the personal issue. Kris Dunn will draw the start tonight sans Rubio, and he's on the radar in daily leagues with an uptempo matchup against one of the worst teams in the league at defending the point guard position.
Kris Dunn will start Sunday vs. Denver 01-22-2017
Kris Dunn G MIN
Kris Dunn will move into the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Nuggets, with Ricky Rubio (personal) unavailable.

Timberwolves PR on Twitter
Dunn hasn't really had a coming out game yet at the NBA level, but he's going to get a ton of opportunity tonight with a favorable matchup against the Nuggets and no Rubio around to mess with his minutes. He's on the radar as a potential streamer punt play in DFS. Tyus Jones should also see some extended minutes off the bench tonight.
Wesley Matthews (hip) will not return Sunday 01-22-2017
Wesley Matthews G DAL
Wesley Matthews (right hip strain) will not return to Sunday's game against the Lakers. Matthews asked to come out of the game with 1:16 left in the second quarter and was sporting a noticeable limp on his way to the locker room, so it's not surprising to see him ruled out for the remainder of the game. He'll end his evening with 13 points, three triples, two boards, two assists, one steal and one turnover in 14 minutes, and for now, we'll consider him questionable for Wednesday's game against the Knicks.
Patrick Patterson (knee) out Sunday vs. Suns 01-22-2017
Patrick Patterson F TOR
Patrick Patterson (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Suns.

Raptors MR on Twitter
Patterson was able to go through a full practice on Saturday, but head coach Dwane Casey said he "probably needs another day" before getting back on the court. The Raptors have a back-to-back set coming up Tuesday vs. San Antonio and Wednesday in Memphis, and it seems likely that Patterson will be able to get back for at least one of those games.
Lucas Nogueira (concussion) will play Sunday 01-22-2017
Lucas Nogueira C TOR
Lucas Nogueira (concussion) will play Sunday vs. the Suns.

Toronto Raptors on Twitter
Nogueira will be returning from a two-game stint on the sidelines, and his return to action will likely cut into Norman Powell's minutes. It's unclear if Nogueira will immediately be re-inserted back into the starting five, but it'll be interesting to see what his minutes look like tonight with Jared Sullinger working his way back into game shape. Still, Nogueira only needs roughly 20 minutes to put up some elite block totals, so give him a look if you're seeking a boost in the shot blocking category.
Joe Harris (left ankle) ruled out for Monday 01-22-2017
Joe Harris G BKN
Joe Harris (left ankle) will not play Monday vs. the Spurs.

Brooklyn Nets on Twitter
This will be Harris' second straight game on the sidelines, which could result in Sean Kilpatrick earning another start with Caris LeVert logging extended minutes with the second unit. Both Kilpatrick and LeVert will be on the radar in daily leagues, and LeVert presents enough upside you can justify stashing him in most formats. Harris belongs on the waiver wire everywhere.
Report: CHI actively shopping Nikola Mirotic 01-22-2017
Nikola Mirotic F CHI
The Bulls are reportedly actively shopping Nikola Mirotic.

Chicago Sun-Times
The Bulls are clinging to the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Conference seeding, and they're hoping a roster shake up can boost their spot in the standings. Mirotic could technically see an uptick in value if he lands in a situation where he can start, but even when he's starting, consistency is always an issue. If Mirotic does end up getting traded and the Bulls don't bring another big back, Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis would see a boost in value.
Report: CHI actively shopping Rondo, Mirotic 01-22-2017
Rajon Rondo G CHI
The Bulls are reportedly actively shopping Rajon Rondo and Nikola Mirotic, although thus far, GM Gar Forman has not seen an offer he deems a worthy return.

Chicago Sun-Times
"Obviously, you knew that would be the case with Rondo," an unnamed source said. "But they don't like what they're hearing back on [Mirotic] either. Then again, that's a [front office] that tends to overvalue its assets." With how low Rondo's value is right now around the league, the Bulls may be forced to outright cut him in order to get him off the roster, but until he's wearing a different jersey he won't be worth owning in standard leagues. Mirotic is consistently inconsistent, and a change to the name across the front of his uniform may not be able to change that.
Nick Young (knee) will start Sunday vs. DAL 01-22-2017
Nick Young F LAL
Nick Young (knee) will start Sunday vs. the Mavericks.

Mike Trudell on Twitter
Young suffered a hyperextended left knee on Friday, but played through it, and there's no word on a minutes limit for tonight's game. He is wearing a protective sleeve on his knee, but he should be fine and is safe to activate anywhere you have him.
Luol Deng, Young starting on Sunday vs. DAL 01-22-2017
Luol Deng F LAL
Luol Deng (wrist) and Nick Young (knee) will start Sunday vs. the Mavericks.

Mike Trudell on Twitter
Deng will be returning from a two-game absence, and Brandon Ingram, Young, Julius Randle and Timofey Mozgov will join him in the starting five. Deng hasn't played very well over the past month, and with Larry Nance (knee) also getting back to the court tonight, he's not a strong pickup in most settings. Ingram has been playing really well lately, and after flirting with a triple-double the last time he started at point, he makes for an intriguing DFS play today.
Aaron Gordon struggles w/ shot in loss to GSW 01-22-2017
Aaron Gordon F ORL
Aaron Gordon was held to eight points on 4-of-14 shooting Sunday, to go with three rebounds, five assists, one steal, one block and one turnover in 34 minutes. While Golden State's excellent defense is partly to blame here, there's no denying that Gordon has been consistently inconsistent this year, and if that awkward frontcourt stays in place in Orlando Gordon's rest-of-season outlook won't look great. The only positive here is that Gordon has seen his usage rate jump to 22.0 over the past two games sans Evan Fournier (heel) and Jodie Meeks (thumb), and he could see another small usage bump if D.J. Augustin (ankle) misses time.
Bismack Biyombo double-doubles off the bench 01-22-2017
Bismack Biyombo C ORL
Bismack Biyombo double-doubled in 24 minutes off the bench on Sunday, tallying 12 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks during the blowout loss to the Warriors. With Nikola Vucevic's name starting to pop up in the rumor mill, it makes sense to stash away Biyombo as he could potentially be looking at a 30-plus minute role once/if Vucevic is sent elsewhere. Serge Ibaka posted a low-end line during his 21 minutes of floor time, producing 10 points, three boards, two 3-pointers, one assist, one steal, one block and one turnover in 21 minutes.
Mario Hezonja logs 21 minutes off the bench 01-22-2017
Mario Hezonja G ORL
Mario Hezonja earned 21 minutes off the bench on Sunday, registering seven points, five rebounds, two steals, one 3-pointer and two turnovers in 21 minutes. With Evan Fournier (heel) and Jodie Meeks (thumb) unavailable, and D.J. Augustin going down with an ankle injury, Frank Vogel was finally forced to give some extended run to Orlando's No. 5 overall selection from the 2015 NBA draft. If the ankle injury forces Augustin into an extended absence, Hezonja should be able to see his minutes in the 20-range, so he's on the radar as a speculative add in deep leagues.
Klay Thompson scores 21 points w/ seven treys 01-22-2017
Klay Thompson G GS
Klay Thompson scored 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting Sunday, to go with seven 3-pointers, five rebounds, one assist and three turnovers in 34 minutes. Thompson torched Orlando from beyond the arc, scoring all 21 of his points from distance and missing just two of those nine attempts. This was also the second time the Splash Brothers each drained seven triples in the same game, a feat that no other pair of teammates has ever done more than once.
Nikola Vucevic scores 12 points in 24 minutes 01-22-2017
Nikola Vucevic C ORL
Nikola Vucevic scored 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting Sunday, to go with four boards, two steals, one assist, one block and zero turnovers in 24 minutes. Vucevic's name is beginning to surface in the rumor mill, and a trade seems likely given his awkward fit in Orlando's overly crowded frontcourt. He's currently averaging the least amount of minutes (28.1) per game since his rookie year, so a trade away from Orlando could certainly improve his value. He has some buy-low appeal.
C.J. Watson scores 12 points with four dimes 01-22-2017
C.J. Watson G ORL
C.J. Watson went 4-of-10 from the field and 3-of-5 from the stripe on Sunday, on his way to 12 points, two boards, four assists, one 3-pointer, two steals and four turnovers in 36 minutes. Watson is about as hit-or-miss as they come, so while he did manage to put up an effective stat line tonight, his contributions to the box score his last time out as a starter were negligible. We'd like to see him do this again before recommending him as an add in most leagues.
Elfrid Payton double-doubles in 39 minutes 01-22-2017
Elfrid Payton G ORL
Elfrid Payton posted a 23-point, 10-assist double-double during Sunday's loss to the Warriors, to go with one 3-pointer, four rebounds, one steal and two turnovers in 39 minutes of play. Payton has been steadily ascending the rankings over the past month, and with D.J. Augustin (ankle) going down in this one, he could be looking major minutes for the Magic moving forward. This was the ninth time this season that Payton had eclipsed the 20-point mark, and over the past few weeks, he's been a top-75 guy with averages of 17.8 points, 6.7 dimes, 1.2 steals, 1.0 triple and 2.8 turnovers per game on 50.0 percent shooting from the field.
Kevin Durant scores 15 points with full line 01-22-2017
Kevin Durant F GS
Kevin Durant posted his 17th double-double of the season on Sunday, racking up 15 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, one 3-pointer, three steals, two blocks and one turnover in 29 minutes. If there's one negative thing we could say about Durant, it's that he's been a pretty awful screen setter for the Dubs this season. Luckily, screen setting is not a category in fantasy hoops, and in all that statistical categories that matter, The Duranchula is an absolute monster. He's hitting career-highs in boards (8.5), blocks (1.7) and field goal percentage (54.6) which are just a few reasons why he ranks No. 1 overall this year.
Draymond Green struggles in win over ORL 01-22-2017
Draymond Green F GS
Draymond Green couldn't get his shot to drop during Sunday's win over the Magic, going 1-of-7 from the field on his way to six points, 10 boards, four assists and three turnovers in 33 minutes. Serge Ibaka made life difficult for Green in this one, but his owners can fully expect a bounce-back performance with a much more favorable matchup against Miami on Monday.
Stephen Curry drains seven triples in win 01-22-2017
Stephen Curry G GS
Stephen Curry was en fuego during the Warriors 118-98 blowout victory over the Magic, tallying 27 points, seven 3-pointers, four boards, six assists and three turnovers in 30 minutes of floor time. Orlando had precisely zero answers for Curry in this one, as he regularly lit them up from beyond the arc (as per usual) and also showcased his elite passing and decision making abilities during the blowout win. He was the primary factor in Golden State going off for 42 points during the third quarter (their 11th time scoring at least 40 points in a quarter this season), and he may have had an even crazier game if it weren't for the lopsided score.
Andrew Bogut (hamstring) nearing a return 01-22-2017
Andrew Bogut C DAL
Rick Carlisle said that while Andrew Bogut (hamstring) will miss Sunday's game against the Lakers, there's a chance he could get back out there sometime next week.

Earl K. Sneed on Twitter
Sunday will mark Bogut's sixth straight game on the sidelines, but it sounds like he should be able to get back out there for at least one game of Dallas' upcoming Wednesday-Thursday back-to-back set. Bogut's return will significantly cut into Salah Mejri and Dwight Powell's minutes.
J.J. Barea likely out until All-Star break 01-22-2017
J.J. Barea G DAL
J.J. Barea (left calf strain) is likely out until the All-Star break according to coach Rick Carlisle.

Earl K. Sneed on Twitter
This isn't a surprise because Barea can't seem to shake this calf issue. With Barea out, Deron Williams and Seth Curry are locked into a heavy workload for the foreseeable future and should be owned in standard leagues. Devin Harris will also play more, but he's not an attractive fantasy asset.
Steven Adams (concussion) will travel to Utah 01-22-2017
Steven Adams C OKC
Steven Adams (concussion) is traveling to Utah for Monday's game against the Jazz.

Fred Katz on Twitter
There's no word that he's officially cleared the league mandated concussion protocol testing, but him traveling with the team is an encouraging sign. Owners can expect to get another update following Monday morning's shootaround, and if he is able to get back to the court, Jerami Grant would more than likely return to the bench.
Tyler Johnson (shoulder) questionable Monday 01-22-2017
Tyler Johnson G MIA
Tyler Johnson (left shoulder strain) is questionable for Monday's game vs. the Warriors.

Shandel Richardson on Twitter
Johnson missed more than half of the 2015-16 season after having surgery on his left shoulder before ultimately returning for the playoffs, so this is a concern. However, the Heat are listing him as day-to-day for now. Coach Erik Spoelstra also downplayed the injury on Saturday and said that Johnson is not planning to get X-rays or an MRI. If Johnson is out Monday, Dion Waiters will be the primary beneficiary and he's coming off a monster 33-point effort against the Bucks.
Blake Griffin (knee) is doubtful for Monday 01-22-2017
Blake Griffin F LAC
Blake Griffin (knee) has been upgraded from "out" to "doubtful" for Monday's game vs. the Hawks.

Dan Woike on Twitter
Griffin has made it clear that he intends to return this week, so if we don't see him on Monday he could make his return to the lineup on Tuesday vs. the 76ers. The Clippers play a total of three times in Week 14, so starting Griffin in weekly formats is a bit too risky unless we get word that he will give it a go on Monday. Luc Mbah a Moute, Austin Rivers, Marreese Speights and Brandon Bass all take a hit with Griffin nearing a return, but Rivers is still worth owning in standard leagues.
Caldwell-Pope goes through practice Sunday 01-22-2017
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope G DET
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) was able to practice on Sunday.

Rod Beard on Twitter
Coach Stan Van Gundy said he's unsure of KCP's status for Monday's game vs. the Kings, but it sounds like he's on the verge of returning from a four-game absence. If KCP is able to give it a go on Monday, both Stanley Johnson and Reggie Bullock will lose most of their value. KCP should be stashed in all standard leagues.
D.J. Augustin (ankle) won't return Monday 01-22-2017
D.J. Augustin G ORL
D.J. Augustin (ankle) will not return to Monday's game vs. the Warriors.

Josh Robbins on Twitter
X-rays were negative and the Magic are calling the injury a right ankle sprain. Augustin was able to walk gingerly under his own power to the locker room, so hopefully it's not too serious. He finished with zero points, one assist and one rebound in five minutes. Elfrid Payton and C.J. Watson will log a ton of minutes the rest of the game and we may see more of Mario Hezonja as well.
D'Angelo Russell (knee, calf) out 1-2 weeks 01-22-2017
D'Angelo Russell G LAL
D'Angelo Russell will spend the next 1-2 weeks on the sidelines with a mildly sprained right knee and a strained left calf.

NBA.com
He's going to re-evaluated in one week, but given the way the Lakers have handled injuries this season, it seems unlikely that Russell will be getting back to the court prior to the two-week mark. With Russell on the sidelines, Lou Williams and Brandon Ingram will see some more opportunity on the offensive end, and Jordan Clarkson could be looking at some starts. For what it's worth, Russell required the PRP injection in his left knee, so this new injury is technically to his good knee.
Rudy Gay (Achilles) to have surgery Monday 01-22-2017
Rudy Gay F SAC
Rudy Gay will undergo surgery to repair his ruptured left Achilles tendon on Monday.

NBA.com
Gay has already been ruled out for the season. The Kings have lost five straight games and are in danger of falling out of the playoff hunt, and they will have to rely on Garrett Temple and Matt Barnes to fill the void left by Gay. He was expected to decline his player option for the 2017-18 season, so it will be interesting to see if this injury changes his plans. We won't have a timetable until Monday afternoon at the earliest.
Anthony Davis (right quad) probable Monday 01-22-2017
Anthony Davis F NO
Anthony Davis (right quad) is expected to play on Monday vs. the Cavaliers according to coach Alvin Gentry.

Justin Verrier on Twitter
Davis missed his second practice in a row on Sunday, but the Pelicans are just being cautious with their franchise center. Gentry said Davis' injury is "basically a charley horse," but keep in mind that he's been battling through an absurd amount of other ailments recently. Expect another update after the morning shootaround. Even with Davis considered probable, Terrence Jones should be owned as an elite handcuff.
Danilo Gallinari (ankle) probable for Sunday 01-22-2017
Danilo Gallinari F DEN
Danilo Gallinari (ankle) is probable for Sunday's game vs. the Wolves.

Jon Krawczynski on Twitter
When a player is probable on the injury report in Denver they are usually a lock to play, but just keep in mind that this is second night of a back-to-back set. Gallinari's ankle issue has lingered all week, but he has been playing well and had 18 points with four rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes on Saturday. Juancho Hernangomez will be in the rotation if Gallo is held out.
Gary Harris (ankle) questionable for Sunday 01-22-2017
Gary Harris G DEN
Gary Harris (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Wolves.

Jon Krawczynski on Twitter
He was said to be targeting a return on Tuesday, but he now has an outside chance to play against the Wolves. If Harris decides to give it a go, that will lower the ceiling of Will Barton and Jamal Murray could lose minutes. Keep in mind that Emmanuel Mudiay (back) is out, so that might be why Harris is thinking about giving it a go.
Brooks not worried about Beal's slump 01-22-2017
Bradley Beal G WAS
Wizards coach Scott Brooks is not worried about Bradley Beal's shooting slump.

Washington Post
"Every player in this league is going to go through some shooting slumps, and hopefully he can get out of it next game," Brooks said. "He's getting good looks. They're not falling for him right now." Beal is shooting a combined 1-of-21 from 3-point range over his last three games, so he has nowhere to go but up. Beal took a hard fall in Saturday's loss to the Pistons and hit his head, but the SG said he's OK. "I got hit pretty hard," Beal said. "My head hit the ground. I'm okay, though. No concussion." Expect a better performance from Beal on Monday vs. the Hornets.
Casey encouraging Sullinger to shoot 01-22-2017
Jared Sullinger C TOR
Raptors coach Dwane Casey is encouraging Jared Sullinger to shoot triples.

Toronto Sun
"If he is wide open, those are good shots for him," Casey said. "He has made those in his career, he just has to make sure he is ready to shoot them conditioning-wise." Sullinger is just 1-of-6 from deep so far this season and is only 27.5 percent from deep in his career, so fantasy owners should keep their expectations in check. Sully has played 14 and 17 minutes in his two appearances, so it will be interesting to see what his workload looks like on Sunday vs. the Suns with the Raptors expected to be at full strength.
Darrell Arthur will be limited rest of season 01-22-2017
Darrell Arthur F DEN
Nuggets coach Michael Malone said he will keep an eye on Darrell Arthur's minutes the rest of the season.

Denver Post
"Yeah, probably through the rest of the year that's what we'll have to do," Malone said. "Even with practices I'm going to have to limit him. The one thing I love about Darrell, he knows one speed and one way to play, and that's hard." The oft-injured forward is averaging 14.7 minutes per game this season and it doesn't sound like his role will be growing any time soon. Arthur is questionable to play on Sunday vs. the Wolves on the second night of a back-to-back set, so we may get a Jusuf Nurkic sighting.
Andre Iguodala could be rested on Monday 01-22-2017
Andre Iguodala G GS
Andre Iguodala could be rested on Monday vs. the Heat.

Anthony Slater on Twitter
He's going to play on Sunday vs. the Magic and could see a couple more minutes with Shaun Livingston resting, but the Warriors are contemplating giving Iggy the day off on Monday. Their final decision likely hinges on the workload he sees vs. the Magic. If he's rested, Ian Clark and Patrick McCaw would be candidates to see a bump in minutes.
Evan Fournier (heel) out again on Sunday 01-22-2017
Evan Fournier F ORL
Evan Fournier (heel) will not play on Sunday vs. the Warriors.

Josh Robbins on Twitter
His return is not "imminent" and it sounds like the Magic are prepared for him to miss additional time -- the Magic signed Anthony Brown to a 10-day contract to provide some emergency depth on the wings. C.J. Watson will draw another start at shooting guard, but fantasy owners can ignore him for now after he scored five points in 31 minutes on Friday. Expect to see a lot of two-PG lineups with Elfrid Payton and D.J. Augustin getting a boost.
Shaun Livingston will rest on Sunday vs. ORL 01-22-2017
Shaun Livingston G GS
Shaun Livingston will rest on Sunday vs. the Magic.

Anthony Slater on Twitter
He's only playing 17.4 minutes per game this season, so this won't have a huge impact on the rotation. With Livingston out, Ian Clark gets a small bump off the bench and Andre Iguodala will run the offense a bit more than usual for the second unit.
Magic sign Anthony Brown 01-22-2017
Anthony Brown F ORL
The Magic have signed Anthony Brown to a 10-day contract.

Josh Robbins on Twitter
Brown was cut by the Lakers during the preseason and had a short stint with the Pelicans this season. He averaged 3.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.7 triples in 15.9 minutes per game in nine appearances in New Orleans, so his upside is obviously pretty low. Even with the Magic banged up on the wings, Brown is not a viable fantasy pickup.
Jabari Parker punished for talking to media 01-22-2017
Jabari Parker F MIL
Jabari Parker was punished on Saturday for violating a team rule that prohibits disclosing locker room discourse to the media.

ESPN
The Bucks held a private team meeting on Friday in which Parker voiced "his frustration with the lack of togetherness," but then he revealed to the media what happened in the locker room which was against team rules. The Bucks have lost five straight games, but his benching during the first quarter on Saturday was likely a one-time thing. Parker is fully expected to return to the starting lineup on Monday vs. Houston.
P.J. Tucker not worried about potential trade 01-22-2017
P.J. Tucker F PHO
P.J. Tucker said he's not concerned about a potential trade.

Arizona Republic
"It's part of business,'' Tucker said. "Contract year. Being a defensive player, a lot of teams are looking to make an addition to fight for a championship. But for me, it's just focusing on being with my team and trying to win games. It happens every contract year. A lot of talk. A lot of it's just rumors and people talking, but you never know in business. You just try to stay ready and block it out." The Suns are hoping to get a first-round pick in return for Tucker, and so far the Clippers, Bulls, Cavaliers, Timberwolves and Hawks are all rumored to have some interest. To be clear, Tucker would lose most of his fantasy value on all of those teams.
Watson hopes Suns keep Tyson Chandler 01-22-2017
Tyson Chandler C PHO
Suns coach Earl Watson said Tyson Chandler won't go anywhere if it was up to him.

Arizona Republic
"I have very little input, but if it was up to me, I love Tyson Chandler,'' Watson said. "I think our front office loves Tyson Chandler. Tyson wants to be a part of this process. He doesn't mind the work and building. Where most veteran players want to win now, they don't want to put in the work. Tyson's all about putting in the work every day." He has two years left on his contract valued at $26.5 million, and his strong play this season has already caught the eye of several teams including the Blazers. The Suns are obviously going to explore his value at the trade deadline since they're rebuilding, but interested teams should be prepared to pay up.

George's Revenge: Hill scores 30 vs. Pacers 01-22-2017
George Hill G UTH
George Hill turned in a big-time revenge game during a 109-100 win over the Pacers on Saturday, scoring 30 points with six rebounds, five assists, one steal, one turnover and three 3-pointers in 34 minutes.

Salt Lake Tribune
A lot of Pacers fans were not the biggest Hill fans because he wasn't a typical point guard and made his money sitting in the left corner and cashing in. Well, he's certainly not in Utah, but Hill wasn't out there to prove anyone wrong. "No statement needed," Hill said after the game. He's having a monster season and he really needs to stay heathy.
Alec Burks looks great vs. Pacers 01-22-2017
Alec Burks G UTH
Alec Burks scored 13 points with four rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in 19 minutes against the Pacers on Saturday. This was the Burks we were expecting after the Rodney Hood injury (knee) last weekend. He did run some of the second-unit offense and attacked like he has done throughout his career. Most fantasy owners can take a wait-and-see approach here. Joe Ingles has a strong grip on his role as the short-term starter, playing 33 minutes with two points, four rebounds, six assists and three steals.
Monta Ellis scores 15 points 01-22-2017
Monta Ellis G IND
Monta Ellis scored 15 points with four rebounds, one assist, two steals and two 3-pointers in 33 minutes against the Jazz during a 109-100 loss to the Jazz on Saturday. He scored a grand total of five points in his previous three games, so obviously we'll need to see it again. This wasn't a garbage-time special, by the way. This one game isn't good enough to change his outlook yet, but he gets a good matchup on Monday against the Knicks.
Myles Turner scores 13 points vs. Gobert 01-22-2017
Myles Turner F IND
Myles Turner scored 13 points with seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes against the Jazz on Saturday. That'll definitely work against Rudy Gobert. At just 20 years old, Turner is one of the toughest problems at center for coaches because he stretches the floor to so well and already has a great low-post presence. Plus, he's already an elite shot blocker, ranking fourth in the NBA for blocks with fantastic shot-altering skills. He'll be in the mix as a top-20 selection next season.
Nikola Jokic scores 19 in just 21 minutes 01-22-2017
Nikola Jokic C DEN
Nikola Jokic made 8-of-11 from the field for 19 points during an easy 123-98 win over the Clippers on Saturday, adding 10 rebounds, three assists and two 3-pointers in just 21 minutes. That's a lot damage in just 21 minutes and it's still an awesome line. The Nuggets crushed this one with a wire-to-wire victory. Jokic's efficiency continues to be the story and it's a big reason why only the Spurs have a better offensive efficiency rating in the last 15 games. We have Karl-Anthony Towns vs. Nikola Jokic Sunday at 7:00 EST, so tell your friends you won't be able to make it to watch the AFC Championship Game.
Wilson Chandler scores 18 points in return 01-22-2017
Wilson Chandler F DEN
Wilson Chandler scored 18 points with seven rebounds, one assist, two 3-pointers and two turnovers in 23 minutes against the Clippers on Saturday. Chandler has looked just fine in his role as the backup power forward. Earlier in the year, he was destroying second unit due to Nikola Jokic playing the vast majority of his minutes next to him. Chandler did actually play eight minutes at small forward during this game, which should continue due to Gary Harris (ankle) and Emmanuel Mudiay (back) being out to force Will Barton to play more two. Barton was also very good in this game with 18 points, three rebounds, three assists, one steal and two 3-pointers. The Nuggets offense is legit.
Darrell Arthur plays 13 minutes 01-22-2017
Darrell Arthur F DEN
Darrell Arthur (knee) played 13 minutes with two rebounds, one steal and one 3-pointer against the Clippers on Saturday. It was a little surprising to see Arthur out there for double-digit minutes. Coach Mike Malone said Arthur will have his minutes managed all season due to his arthritic knees. Even in super deep leagues, he will be way too annoying to own.
Rajon Rondo scored zero points in six minutes 01-22-2017
Rajon Rondo G CHI
Rajon Rando was held scoreless in six minutes on Saturday against the Kings. Rondo did not attempt any shots, but dished out four assists and got a steal. The fact that he played just six minutes, despite Michael Carter-Williams struggling, has to be concerning. It appears that Rondo will not have a big role in Chicago in the foreseeable future and only a trade will help his fantasy value.
Danilo Gallinari scores 18 in return 01-22-2017
Danilo Gallinari F DEN
Danilo Gallinari (ankle) returned after a one-game absence against the Clippers on Saturday, scoring 18 points with four rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes. The Nuggets are just rolling as an offense and it really hasn't even mattered who starts. Coach Mike Malone seems hellbent on playing Gallinari big minutes and was headed to the upper 30s today because he didn't play in the final nine minutes for garbage time. Gallo is a must-start guy, but the injury risk is real.
Nurkic has terrific game vs. Clipers 01-22-2017
Jusuf Nurkic C DEN
Jusuf Nurkic scored 12 points with five rebounds, three assists and no turnovers in 20 minutes against the Clippers on Saturday. Only six of these minutes were in garbage time, so this may be one of the most encouraging games for Nurkic in a while. He gets a good matchup on paper against the larger Wolves frontline and the Nuggets seem committed to playing Kenneth Faried at the four most of the time. Nurkic still isn't a hot add and really needs a trade to reach his potential.
Robin Lopez nearly double-doubles 01-22-2017
Robin Lopez C CHI
Robin Lopez scored nine points with eight rebounds, two assists and one block in 29 minutes on Saturday against the Kings. Lopez is averaging 11.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game over his last five. He does not produce eye-popping numbers, but has returned decent value to fantasy owners this season. The Bulls face the Magic on Tuesday, which is a good matchup for Lopez, as they are giving up the fifth most rebounds per game with a -2.1 differential. They are also yielding the sixth most fantasy points per game to centers.
Jameer Nelson scores six points 01-22-2017
Jameer Nelson G DEN
Jameer Nelson scored six points with two rebounds, eight assists and one turnover in 29 minutes against the Clippers on Saturday. Emmanuel Mudiay (back) has already been ruled out for Sunday, so he's a good bet to miss multiple games due to an aggravation. In Nelson's starts, he's averaged 14.0 points, 3.3 boards, 5.9 assists, 0.4 steals and 1.9 treys. If you have anything you're not too attached to and need some wins for next week, it makes a lot of sense to add him in most leagues until Mudiay gets the all clear.
Raymond Felton scores 14 off the bench 01-22-2017
Raymond Felton G LAC
Raymond Felton made 6-of-17 from the field for 14 points off the bench against the Nuggets during a 123-98 loss on Saturday, adding three rebounds, three assists and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes. He did start the second half because the Nuggets ran all over them with their bigger lineup including Mo Speights. Felton should be moving back into the starting lineup against the Hawks on Monday and should be able to flirt with top-100 value while Chris Paul (thumb) is out.
Austin Rivers scores 16 points in start 01-22-2017
Austin Rivers G LAC
Austin Rivers scored 16 points with two rebounds, five assists and two 3-pointers in 26 minutes as the starting point guard against the Nuggets on Saturday. The fact that he started over Raymond Felton was a good sign, but getting smoked in the first half negates that. With Blake Griffin (knee) getting really close, it should affect Rivers the most because he's more of a score-first guard and that's not needed as much next to BG. Plus, he has been a nightmare on defense. He's a hold for the rest of the month, but may fall off in February.
Nikola Mirotic scores 11 points in win 01-22-2017
Nikola Mirotic F CHI
Nikola Mirotic scored 11 points with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in Saturday's 102-99 victory over the Kings. It was his best game since returning from illness, but nothing to be too excited about. He can frustrate owners with his volatility, but is still worth owning in standard leagues.
Marreese Speights scores 18 in start 01-22-2017
Marreese Speights F LAC
Marreese Speights scored 18 points in a start against the Nuggets on Saturday, adding three rebounds, two assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 28 minutes. His 74th start of his career and first since January 2015 did not result in a win despite his strong start. Speights came off the bench to start the second half, so this may have been a matchup move. Speights has been hanging in the mid-rounds these days, but his value will take a hit once Blake Griffin (knee) comes back.
Dwyane Wade scores team-high 30 points 01-22-2017
Dwyane Wade G CHI
Dwyane Wade hit 9-20 shots and 12-of-15 free throws for 30 points with six rebounds, four assists, three steals and four blocks on Saturday against the Kings. Wade stuffed the stat sheet and helped the Bulls snap a two-game losing streak. Chicago will get two days of rest before heading to Orlando to take on the Magic, a team that Wade played 25 minutes against and scored 16 points with three rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks in their last meeting. He should be well rested and ready to roll in that matchup.
Kawhi Leonard scores career-high 41 points 01-22-2017
Kawhi Leonard F SA
Kawhi Leonard won the battle against LeBron James during a thrilling 118-115 overtime victory in Cleveland on Saturday, scoring a career-high 41 points with six rebounds, five assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers in 46 minutes. He's not a system player. He's a system, player. Leonard's offense has been better than his defense these days with six consecutive games of at least 30 points. He joins only George "The Iceman" Gervin as the only two in Spurs history to do that. Leonard wasn't expected to have a J coming out of college, but he posted a 58.7 effective field goal percentage on just his 92 jumpers alone in his last six. The Spurs are first in the NBA in offensive rating in that span and it's all about Kawhi. The Spurs are a Kawhi system these days.
Anthony Tolliver struggles vs. Bulls 01-22-2017
Anthony Tolliver F SAC
Anthony Tolliver hit 2-of-7 shots for six points with one rebound and two 3-pointers in Saturday's loss to the Bulls. Tolliver continues to struggle and has now scored fewer than 10 points in four of his last five games, averaging 27.8 minutes, 6.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game during that stretch. He has not lived up to the hype and is far from a must-own player at this point.
Manu Ginobili hurts his back 01-22-2017
Manu Ginobili G SA
Manu Ginobili hurt his back at the end of Saturday's game in Cleveland. He grabbed his lower back and was in a lot of pain. Ginobili has a slew of back problems in the past, so you can pencil him as a DNP on Monday and possibly beyond. Jonathon Simmons would be worth a look in deep leagues while Bryn Forbes could be in the rotation. This helps Danny Green too.
Clint Capela plays 16 minutes on Saturday 01-22-2017
Clint Capela C HOU
Clint Capela came off the bench and had 12 points, three rebounds, three steals and a block in just 16 minutes on Saturday. Capela blew up for 22 points and 12 boards in 21 minutes on Friday, but his minutes cut is understandable in a back-to-back situation with him coming off a broken leg. In any case, Capela's arrow is point up, while Montrezl Harrell's is pointing down. As long as Capela doesn't suffer a setback, you have to think he'll be back in the starting unit by the end of the upcoming week, if not much sooner.
Mills scores 13 off the bench 01-22-2017
Patty Mills G SA
Patty Mills scored 13 points with three rebounds, five assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes against the Cavs on Saturday With Tony Parker (ankle) set to miss time, Mills will get a better chance for minutes. Although, Dejounte Murray has been fantastic, so Mills may actually not benefit at all.
Garrett Temple plays 30 minutes in loss 01-22-2017
Garrett Temple G SAC
Garrett Temple scored eight points with three rebounds, three assists, one block, two steals and one 3-pointer on Saturday against the Bulls. He is averaging 30.2 minutes, 8.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in his last five. With Rudy Gay (Achilles) out for the season, Temple should continue to see consistent minutes and is worth adding off of waivers.
Montrezl Harrell plays 16 minutes in start 01-22-2017
Montrezl Harrell F HOU
Montrezl Harrell started again on Saturday, but played just 16 minutes and finished with six points and two rebounds. We said in his previous blurb that he'll need to have 20-24 minutes to hold value and those of you who dropped him early when Clint Capela was on the verge of a return should feel better about that decision after this one. There's still a chance Harrell could hold a little value, but he and Capela both got 16 minutes tonight and Capela's run should only increase as he gets healthy from a broken leg. Harrell is likely to end up on waivers in a ton of leagues if he continues to see his minutes drop, while a move to the bench is likely coming as well.
Kyle Anderson gets 18 minutes 01-22-2017
Kyle Anderson F SA
Kyle Anderson played 18 minutes against the Cavs on Saturday with two points, four rebounds, one assist, four steals and two blocks. The Spurs when with a small-ball four and it really worked out. Anderson was a +19 in the plus-minus stat and he was out there on the last play, as well. Anderson could get decent run on Monday against the Nets, but obviously we're not adding him.
