IND expected to move on from Donte Moncrief 03-08-2018
Donte Moncrief WR IND
The Indianapolis Star expects the Colts and free agent Donte Moncrief to "(part) ways for good."

Indianapolis Star
A physical freak, Moncrief is still only 24. His inconsistency could at least partly be attributed to Andrew Luck's frequent absences in recent seasons. Moncrief has also dealt with injury issues of his own. He will be an interesting case on the open market.
Dolphins 'discussing' cutting Ndamukong Suh 03-08-2018
Ndamukong Suh DT MIA
ESPN's Dianna Marie Russini confirms the Dolphins are "discussing" releasing Ndamukong Suh.

Dianna Marie Russini on Twitter
The Miami Herald has been reporting this for weeks. With Jarvis Landry signing his franchise tender, the Dolphins need to clear salary cap space in the worst way. Although he's now 31, cutting Suh would be purely financial. He remains an elite player. Quarterbacks aside, Suh would instantly become the best player on the open market.
Report: Rams acquire Aqib Talib from Broncos 03-08-2018
Aqib Talib CB LA
Rams acquired CB Aqib Talib from the Broncos in exchange for a fifth-round pick.

James Palmer on Twitter
It's the Rams' second trade for a corner in two weeks, and gives DC Wade Phillips a veteran frontline starter to pair with volatile, young pro Marcus Peters. The Broncos had decided that 32-year-old Talib was no longer worth his $11 million salary - the trade terms confirm the move is a salary dump - but he remained one of the league's better corners in 2017. Durable, Talib has remained extremely consistent. He's reuniting with Phillips after two years together in Denver. The Rams have done an excellent job of rebuilding their cornerback corps on the fly.
Derrick Shelby visiting Seahawks, Browns 03-08-2018
Derrick Shelby DE ATL
Free agent DE Derrick Shelby is visiting the Seahawks and Browns.

Ian Rapoport on Twitter
Shelby was released by the Falcons last week. He tallied just one sack on 641 snaps across two years in Atlanta. In between, he tore his Achilles' tendon. He's looking for work as a run stuffer.
Cardinals ask Tyrann Mathieu to take pay cut 03-08-2018
Tyrann Mathieu FS TB
Cardinals DB Tyrann Mathieu says the team has asked him to take a pay cut.

Gregg Rosenthal on Twitter's Ian Rapoport reports it would be a "large" cut. Mathieu is currently scheduled to make $10.75 million between salary and bonuses. He's due a $5 million roster bonus next Wednesday. It's quite possible Mathieu refuses the cut and earns his release. Cutting Mathieu and designating it as a post-June 1 move would free up $11 million in space.
Report: Muhammad Wilkerson visiting Saints 03-08-2018
Muhammad Wilkerson DE GB's Ian Rapoport reports free agent DE Muhammad Wilkerson will visit the Saints after leaving his Packers visit without a contract.

Ian Rapoport on Twitter
Bills sign Owa Odighizuwa to one-year deal 03-08-2018
Owa Odighizuwa DE BUF
Bills signed DE Owa Odighizuwa to a one-year contract. A 2015 third-rounder, Odighizuwa spent 2017 out of the league after being waived by the Giants. He'll be a long shot to crack the Bills' 53-man roster.
Rams take flier on ex-Packers CB Sam Shields 03-08-2018
Sam Shields CB LA
Rams signed CB Sam Shields.
Bucs re-sign Fitzpatrick to back up Winston 03-08-2018
Ryan Fitzpatrick QB TB
Bucs re-signed QB Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Rick Stroud on Twitter
It's likely a one-year deal. 35-year-old Fitzpatrick made six appearances, including three starts, in place of Jameis Winston last season. Always a bit overextended as a starter, Fitz is one of the league's top backups.
Derrick Henry locked in as Titans' lead back 03-08-2018
Derrick Henry RB TEN
Following Thursday's release of DeMarco Murray, third-year pro Derrick Henry is now locked in as the Titans' lead back.
Titans cut DeMarco Murray, save $6.5 million 03-08-2018
DeMarco Murray RB TEN
Titans released RB DeMarco Murray. The move clears Murray's entire $6.5 million salary from the books, leaving behind no dead money. The Titans are now committed to on-the-rise third-year pro Derrick Henry as their lead back. Henry closed 2017 on a tear while (now) 30-year-old Murray appeared out of gas. Playing banged up, Murray averaged just 3.58 yards per carry. A violent runner, Murray has learned how to stay on the field after injury issues early in his career, but has taken a ton of punishment. He will hunt for committee work in free agency.
Josh Cribbs joins Browns' coaching staff 03-08-2018
Josh Cribbs WR IND
Josh Cribbs has joined the Browns' coaching staff as a special teams intern.

Profootballtalk on
"I have this burning desire to be around football, to get back in the game," Cribbs said. "This is the closest way I can be around football, to still make an impact in the NFL." A Brown from 2005-12, Cribbs was one of the best special teams players of his generation. He's still only 34 years old.
Report: Broncos 'likely' to trade Aqib Talib 03-08-2018
Aqib Talib CB LA's Ian Rapoport considers the Broncos "likely" to trade Aqib Talib.

Ian Rapoport on Twitter
Rapsheet's is just the latest in a long line that makes a deal look increasingly inevitable. If the Broncos can't find a trade partner, Talib will probably be released.
Report: 'Hawks unlikely to trade Earl Thomas 03-08-2018
Earl Thomas FS SEA's Mike Garafolo reports the Seahawks would have to be "blown away" to trade Earl Thomas.

Mike Garafolo on Twitter
Garafolo confirms that Thomas has been made available, but only for the steepest of prices. It's similar to what the Seahawks did with Richard Sherman last offseason. Most signs have pointed toward Thomas remaining in Seattle for the final year of his contract.
Seahawks expected to release Jeremy Lane 03-08-2018
Jeremy Lane CB SEA
The Seattle Times reports the Seahawks are expected to release CB Jeremy Lane.

Seattle Times
Lane played 346 highly-ineffective snaps in 2017. He was then arrested for driving under the influence in January. Cutting Lane would create $4.75 million in cap space while leaving behind $2.5 million in dead money. Lane hasn't been the same since his 2015 Super Bowl injury.
'Hawks could re-sign Sherman at lower price? 03-08-2018
Richard Sherman CB SF
The Seattle Times confirms the Seahawks are expected to release Richard Sherman ahead of the new league year, but that they will be open to re-signing him at a lower price.

Seattle Times
That presumably means Sherman has already declined to take a pay cut on his scheduled $11 million salary. We doubt Sherman will be terribly interested in re-signing with the team that cut him. Sherman will be eligible to sign the second he's released but it's possible he will take his time as he recovers from Achilles' operations to both feet.
Brooks Reed agrees to restructured contract 03-08-2018
Brooks Reed DE ATL
Falcons DE Brooks Reed has agreed to a restructured contract.

Ian Rapoport on Twitter
It sounds like a pay cut. Reed tallied four sacks on 413 snaps last season. 2018 will be his age-31 campaign.
Vikes keeping RB Mack Brown 03-08-2018
Mack Brown RB MIN
Vikings re-signed RB Mack Brown to a one-year, $630,000 contract. Brown was claimed off waivers from the Redskins in October. A 2015 UDFA, Brown has 18 career touches.
49ers lock up Marquise Goodwin through 2021 03-08-2018
Marquise Goodwin WR SF
49ers signed WR Marquise Goodwin to a three-year, $20.3 million extension through 2021.

Josina Anderson on Twitter
It includes $10 million guaranteed. The 49ers signed Goodwin to a bargain two-year, $8 million contract last March and he responded by posting new career bests across the board, coming within 38 yards of 1,000. He seamlessly slid in as the 49ers' No. 1 receiver after Pierre Garcon was lost for the season and showed excellent chemistry with Jimmy Garoppolo. Goodwin is unlikely to ever be a true No. 1, but he's proven he can be an excellent No.2. 2018 will be Goodwin's age-28 campaign.
Vikings keep S Anthony Harris for one year 03-08-2018
Anthony Harris FS MIN
Vikings re-signed S Anthony Harris to a one-year, $705,000 contract.

St. Paul Pioneer Press
Harris was an exclusive rights free agent. A 2015 UDFA, Harris has been a valuable special teamer and reserve defensive back. He turns 27 in October.
Drug charges against Tyler Boyd dismissed 03-08-2018
Tyler Boyd WR CIN
Drug charges against Tyler Boyd were dismissed on Wednesday.

Boyd was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia following a car crash in Pittsburgh last July. Despite the car in question being registered to him, Boyd said he was not at the scene of the crash, and one of his friends has since admitted to being the driver. This should be the last we hear of the incident.
Broncos exercise CB Chris Harris' option 03-08-2018
Chris Harris CB DEN
Broncos exercised CB Chris Harris' $1 million, 2018 option.

Mike Klis on Twitter
This was essentially a formality. One of the best corners in the league, Harris is a bargain at his $7.4 million base salary, and Denver certainly was not letting him walk out the door. Harris is due $16.4 million in salary and bonuses over the next two seasons.
Rodgers-Cromartie not moving to safety? 03-08-2018
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie CB NYG
The New York Post's Paul Schwartz reports the Giants are not moving Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to safety at this time.

New York Post
Last week, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Rodgers-Cromartie would move to safety, but Schwartz writes the report was "news to the Giants coaches and front office personnel who would know about such a move." Schwartz adds Rodgers-Cromartie also has not been informed of a position switch. It never made much sense for the Giants to move DRC from cornerback, where they could use some help, to safety, where they have plenty of talent, and now it does not look like it is going to happen.
Jonathan Stewart visiting Seahawks Thursday 03-08-2018
Jonathan Stewart RB NYG
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports free agent Jonathan Stewart is visiting the Seahawks on Thursday.

Mike Garafolo on Twitter
After having one of the worst rushing attacks in the league last season, the Seahawks are rightfully looking at all their options this spring. Stewart will turn 31 later this month, however, and has mostly struggled the last two seasons. He is probably not the spark their running game needs.
Texans re-sign veteran P Shane Lechler 03-08-2018
Shane Lechler P HOU
Texans signed P Shane Lechler to a one-year contract.

Mark Berman on Twitter
Entering his age-42 season, Lechler showed no signs of slowing down last year, averaging 49 yards per punt. Lechler has spent the last five seasons in Houston after being with the Raiders for 13 years.
Report: Jarvis Landry signs franchise tender 03-08-2018
Jarvis Landry WR CLE
Dolphins signed franchised player Jarvis Landry to a one-year, $15.982 million contract.

Adam Schefter on Twitter
Packers RT Bulaga does not expect to be cut 03-08-2018
Bryan Bulaga OT GB
Packers RT Bryan Bulaga (ACL) said he does not expect to be cut.

Rob Demovsky on Twitter
Set to count $7.9 million against the cap and coming off an ACL tear, there were rumors Bulaga would be cut, but the tackle expects to stick around. "My agents were in Indy last week and we haven't heard anything," Bulaga said on Wilde and Tausch. "I'm getting ready to help the Green Bay Packers win football games next year." Bulaga might not be ready for training camp, but he should be good to go by Week 1.
Falcons LG Andy Levitre agrees to a pay cut 03-08-2018
Andy Levitre OG ATL
Falcons LG Andy Levitre agreed to a $2.5 million pay cut.

Tom Pelissero on Twitter
The move drops Levitre's cap charge from $8.375 million to $5.875 million and all but ensures he will be back with the team in 2018. Even with Levitre returning, the Falcons need help at guard.
Texans sign Corey Moore to one-year contract 03-08-2018
Corey Moore FS HOU
Texans re-signed S Corey Moore to a one-year contract.

Ian Rapoport on Twitter
Moore was an exclusive rights free agent, so his only options were signing with the Texans or not playing in 2018. A quality special teamer, Moore has also shown well when given a chance on defense the last couple seasons. With both Marcus Gilchrist and Eddie Pleasant headed to free agency, he could get a shot at a starting job.
Patriots re-sign ST Brandon King to 2-yr deal 03-08-2018
Brandon King FS NE
Patriots signed ST Brandon King to a two-year, $2.6 million contract.

Field Yates on Twitter
The deal includes a $400,000 signing bonus. A former UDFA out of Auburn, King has played zero snaps on defense through three seasons, but he has been a standout on special teams.
Jalen Reeves-Maybin hoping to bulk up 03-08-2018
Jalen Reeves-Maybin OLB DET
Lions LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin is hoping to bulk up this offseason.
A fourth-round pick last year, Reeves-Maybin played just 239 snaps on defense as a rookie, but the Lions will need him to play a bigger role moving forward with Tahir Whitehead and Paul Worrilow headed to free agency, which might require him to put on some weight. "Me being an undersized linebacker, I always have to work on that," Reeves-Maybin said. "Just keep adding strength and weight and that's something I'll be focusing on in the offseason." Even if Reeves-Maybin takes a step forward, the Lions need to add some linebackers this offseason.
Titans, Josh Kline not close to an extension 03-08-2018
Josh Kline OG TEN
ESPN's Cameron Wolfe reports the Titans and free agent OG Josh Kline "aren't close to a deal."

The Titans have issues at guard with both Kline and Quinton Spain headed to free agency. Kline would seem to be the bigger priority, but it does not sound like they will be able to lock him up before free agency opens next week. Wolfe thinks Kline is looking for around $7.5 million per year on his next deal.
Stedman Bailey attends Marshall's Pro Day 03-08-2018
Stedman Bailey WR LA
Free agent WR Stedman Bailey worked out for scouts during Marshall's Pro Day.

The Herald-Dispatch
Shot in the head in November of 2015, Bailey's career was thought to be over, but he is still hoping to make a return. "I know a lot of teams probably remember me and what type of player I was at the time," Bailey said. "I'm trying to prove that I am still that guy and probably even better. It's all about proving it and capitalizing on the opportunities that are given to me." In addition to working out during Marshall's Pro Day, Bailey plans to participate in West Virginia's Pro Day, his alma mater, and perhaps Toledo's as well. Bailey caught 59 passes for 843 yards and two scores in three seasons before the incident.
'Not impossible' Ravens nab first-round QB 03-08-2018
Joe Flacco QB BAL
The Baltimore Sun's Jeff Zrebiec writes it is "certainly not impossible" the Ravens draft a quarterback in the first round.

Baltimore Sun
NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah mocked Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield to Baltimore with the No. 16 overall pick earlier this week, prompting a response from Zrebiec. The reporter does not think it is likely the Ravens spend a first on a quarterback, but it is possible because of Joe Flacco's age (33) and recent level of play (bad) as well as the lack of first-round talent at Baltimore's real areas of need, most notably receiver, tight end, and offensive tackle. The Ravens will also have their first real chance to get out Flacco's contract next offseason, so it would be good to have the succession plan already in place if the quarterback continues to struggle. While it is not the most likely landing spot for the top quarterbacks, the Ravens will be a team to watch if someone starts to slip.
Andrew Norwell to Giants already 'done deal'? 03-08-2018
Andrew Norwell OG JAX
NFL draft insider Tony Pauline says "belief" around the league is free agent OG Andrew Norwell signing with the Giants is "a done deal."

Draft Analyst
The top guard on the market, Norwell was one of ex-Panthers GM Dave Gettleman's most-prized discoveries as an undrafted free agent. Gettleman now runs the Giants, who have needs all over the line. At $11.7 million per year, the Raiders made Kelechi Osemele the NFL's highest-paid guard in 2016. Osemele was topped by Browns RG Kevin Zeitler's $12.0 million annually last offseason.
Colts favorite to land LB Anthony Hitchens? 03-08-2018
Anthony Hitchens MLB KC
According to Draft Insider's Tony Pauline, "just about everybody believes" free agent LB Anthony Hitchens will sign with the Colts.

Draft Analyst
Indy beat writers have hinted at this, as well; new Colts DC Matt Eberflus was Hitchens' position coach in Dallas. A solid run stopper with experience at all three linebacker positions, Hitchens typically came off the field on passing downs as a Cowboy. He would play middle linebacker in the Colts' new 4-3.
Pats, Broncos 'have engaged' in Talib talks 03-08-2018
Aqib Talib CB LA
According to 9 News Denver's Mike Klis, the Patriots and Broncos "have engaged" in trade talks involving Aqib Talib.

9 News Denver
Klis notes the Pats are just "one of several teams" to have talks regarding Talib, but New England is also known to be Talib's preferred destination. The 49ers also discussed a Talib deal, but it's believed those discussions fell through. Klis expects Talib's trade market to be strong enough that the Broncos won't have to cut him, and could still come away with some compensation.
