Devan Dubnyk G MIN
Devan Dubnyk allowed four goals on 40 shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Arizona Coyotes. Minnesota jumped out to a 3-0 lead thanks to goals by Eric Staal, Matt Cullen and Mike Reilly, but they also allowed the Coyotes to score the next four goals. The loss puts an end to Dubnyk's personal three-game winning streak. He now owns a 21-10-4 record in 2017-18. Dubnyk will enter his next appearance with a 2.68 goals-against-average and a .916 save percentage.
ARZ comes back from 3 goals down to beat MIN 02-08-2018
Antti Raanta G ARZ
Antti Raanta allowed three goals on 28 shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Minnesota Wild. Raanta gave up all three goals in the first 30 minutes of the game. The Coyotes found themselves down 3-0 at that point, but they managed to score the next four goals, including Clayton Keller's game-winner in the extra frame. Raanta now has a 9-14-5 record with a 2.63 goals-against-average and a .915 save percentage this season. He shouldn't pop up on your fantasy radar unless you're incredibly desperate for a starting goalie.
Matt Cullen picks up 1G, 1A in OTL to Coyotes 02-08-2018
Matt Cullen C MIN
Matt Cullen scored a goal and an assist in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Arizona Coyotes. Cullen's goal gave the Wild a 2-0 lead in the second period. He then helped set up Mike Reilly's tally, which made it 3-0 for Minnesota at that point. Unfortunately for them, it was all downhill from there, as they allowed the Coyotes to force overtime. In the extra frame, it was rookie Clayton Keller that sank the Wild. Cullen, who was a healthy scratch just two games ago, finished the night with a plus-2 rating and three shots on goal in 15:15 of ice time. The 41-year-old is up to five goals and 13 points in 52 games.
Clayton Keller scores in OT, ARZ beats MIN 02-08-2018
Clayton Keller C ARZ
Clayton Keller scored the overtime winner in Thursday's 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Wild. The Coyotes were down 3-0 midway through the second period, but they managed to tie the game thanks to goals by Nick Cousins (twice) and Kevin Connauton. Keller, who hadn't scored in his previous 12 games, managed to beat Wild goalie Devan Dubnyk with a beautiful wrister in the extra frame to complete the comeback. The Coyotes rookie now has 15 goals and 37 points in 54 games this season. He's still putting together a strong first year in the NHL, but his offensive production has dipped quite a bit over the last few weeks.
Jonathan Bernier pulled in loss to Blues 02-08-2018
Jonathan Bernier G COL
Jonathan Bernier was pulled in Thursday's 6-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues. The game was tied at one early in the second period, but that's when Bernier allowed two goals in less than a minute. The Avs netminder gave up three goals on 20 shots in just over 25 minutes of action. He now has a 16-10-2 record with a 2.69 goals-against-average and a .918 save percentage this season. Semyon Varlamov entered the game in relief of Bernier. He stopped just eight off 11 shots.
Carter Hutton bounces back vs. Avalanche 02-08-2018
Carter Hutton G STL
Carter Hutton turned aside 23 of 24 shots in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche. Hutton was pulled in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to Minnesota, so it's nice to see him bounce back on Thursday. The Blues and Avalanche were tied at one early in the first period, but St. Louis managed to score four times in the second frame and once in the third. Hutton now has a 15-5-1 record with a 1.70 goals-against-average and a .944 save percentage this season. He's won five of his last six games.
Gabriel Bourque scores in blowout loss to STL 02-08-2018
Gabriel Bourque RW COL
Gabriel Bourque scored in Thursday's 6-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues. Bourque tied the game at one at the 2:50 mark of the second period, but the Blues responded by scoring four consecutive goals to close out the frame. The Avs forward now has four goals and two assists in 29 games this season. Bourque shouldn't pop up on your fantasy radar.
Brayden Schenn scores twice in win over COL 02-08-2018
Brayden Schenn RW STL
Brayden Schenn scored two goals in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche. The Blues forward's power play goal at the 8:41 mark of the first period gave his team a 1-0 lead. His second-period tally made it 3-1 for St. Louis. Schenn finished the game with a plus-1 rating, five penalty minutes (he fought Gabriel Landeskog) and three shots on goal in 15:21 of ice time. The 26-year-old has 23 goals and 53 points in 56 games this season. Ivan Barbashev, Kyle Brodziak, Alex Pietrangelo and Paul Stastny also found the back of the net for the Blues on Thursday night.

He has 14 points in his last 13 games. His next contest will come against his former team, the Montreal Canadiens. Calle Jarnkrok also found the back of the net in Thursday's overtime loss.
Mike Hoffman scores GWG in OT vs. Predators 02-08-2018
Mike Hoffman LW OTT
Mike Hoffman scored the game-winning goal in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Nashville Predators. Hoffman picked up the puck deep in his own territory and used a burst of speed to create a breakaway before beating Nashville's Juuse Saros in the extra frame. Hoffman is now riding a four-game point streak. His name has popped up in trade rumors recently, and although it's unlikely that he's dealt before the trade deadline, the notion of him going elsewhere isn't impossible. Of course, with two years remaining on his current contract, the Sens would have to get an incredible return for him. Hoffman has 15 goals and 37 points in 53 games this season.
Anders Nilsson drops 7th straight decision 02-08-2018
Anders Nilsson G VAN
Anders Nilsson allowed five goals on 36 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Canucks found themselves in a 4-0 hole heading into the third period and they were never able to recover. Nilsson has now dropped each of his last seven decisions dating back to Dec. 9. He has a 6-9-1 record with a 3.50 goals-against-average and a .903 save percentage this season. He doesn't have an ounce of fantasy value in him right now.
Vasilevskiy wins for fifth time in last six 02-08-2018
Andrei Vasilevskiy G TB
Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed two goals on 29 shots in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks. Vasilevskiy blanked the Canucks in the first two periods, but he gave up two meaningless goals in the third frame. The Lightning goalie has now won five of his last six games. He has a 32-10-2 record with a 2.27 goals-against-average and a .929 save percentage this season. Vasilevskiy will continue to be an elite number one goalie in all fantasy formats.
Brock Boeser scores in loss to Lightning 02-08-2018
Brock Boeser RW VAN
Brock Boeser found the back of the net in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. Boeser finally got the Canucks on the board with a power play goal at the 6:28 mark of the third period. That tally cut Vancouver's deficit to 4-1 at the time. The Canucks rookie now has 26 goals and 47 points in 51 games this season. Sven Baertschi also scored a goal for the Canucks on Thursday night. Meanwhile, defenseman Alexander Edler helped set up both of Vancouver's goals.

Nikita Kucherov RW TB
Nikita Kucherov scored a goal and an assist in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks. Kucherov opened the scoring at the 14:36 mark of the first period. The goal finally put an end to his 11-game goalless drought. The Lightning forward also helped set up Victor Hedman's power play tally late in the third period. The 24-year-old finished the night with a game-high seven shots on goal in 18:32 of ice time. He now has 28 goals and 68 points in 54 games this season. Despite having just one goal in his last 12 games, he's still managed to pick up seven points in his last six games. Yanni Gourde, Adam Erne and Steven Stamkos also found the back of the net in Thursday's win.
Carey Price allows 4 goals in loss to Flyers 02-08-2018
Carey Price G MON
Carey Price allowed four goals on 27 shots in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. This game was tied at two heading into the third period, but the Flyers managed to score twice in the first 1:28 of the final frame. Price will likely want to have Travis Konecny's 4-2 goal back, as he allowed a shot from the point to squeak behind him before Konecny buried it. The Canadiens netminder now has a 15-20-4 record with a 2.95 goals-against-average and a .906 save percentage this season. Price has dropped four of his last five games.
Brian Elliott pushes win streak to four games 02-08-2018
Brian Elliott G PHI
Brian Elliott allowed three goals on 28 shots in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Montreal Canadiens. Elliott has now won four games in a row and seven of his last eight. He has a 21-11-7 record with a 2.72 goals-against-average and a .909 save percentage this season. Keith Kinkaid G NJ
Keith Kinkaid allowed three goals on 25 shots in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Calgary Flames. Kinkaid blanked the Flames in the first and third periods, but he allowed his opposition to score three times in the middle frame. After winning three games in a row last week, he's now dropped back-to-back decisions. He owns a 10-6-2 record with a 3.12 goals-against-average and a .893 save percentage this season. He'll continue serving as the Devils starting netminder until Cory Schneider returns from injury.
David Rittich makes 30 saves in win over NJ 02-08-2018
David Rittich G CAL
David Rittich stopped 30 of 32 shots in Thursday's 3-2 win over the New Jersey Devils. One of the two goals Rittich allowed came while the Flames were shorthanded. Calgary's backup netminder has a 5-1-2 record with a 2.20 goals-against-average and a .927 save percentage this season. He'll continue to serve as Mike Smith's backup goalie, which means he won't carry any fantasy value down the stretch.
Jaroslav Halak allows 4 goals in loss to BUF 02-08-2018
Jaroslav Halak G NYI
Jaroslav Halak allowed four goals on 22 shots in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Buffalo Sabres. The Islanders were down 3-0 in the second period, but they managed to score three unanswered goals to tie the game. Unfortunately for the Islanders, Sam Reinhart scored the game-winner with less than five minutes remaining in the game. Halak now has a 16-16-4 record with a 3.23 goals-against-average and a .908 save percentage this season. He's come out on the losing end in three of his last four games.

Robin Lehner G BUF
Robin Lehner allowed three goals on 29 shots in Thursday's 4-3 win over the New York Islanders. The Sabres built up a 3-0 lead at the midway point of the second period, but they watched that league evaporate. Fortunately for Buffalo, Sam Reinhart scored the game-winning goal with less than five minutes remaining. The win allowed the Sabres to put an end to their four-game losing skid. Lehner now has a 12-20-7 record with a 2.84 goals-against-average and a .913 save percentage this season.
Artturi Lehkonen scores SHG in loss to Flyers 02-08-2018
Artturi Lehkonen LW MON
Artturi Lehkonen scored a shorthanded goal in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. The sophomore forward has now scored three goals in his last two games. The 22-year-old now has five goals and nine points in 38 games. This was the first time all season that Lehkonen scored a goal against a team that isn't the Ottawa Senators. Logan Shaw and Brendan Gallagher also found the back of the net on Thursday night.

Claude Giroux C PHI
Claude Giroux scored a goal and two assists in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Montreal Canadiens. Giroux registered the primary assists on goals by Travis Konecny (1-0) and Jakub Voracek (3-2) in the second and third periods. Pierre LeBrun on Twitter
Kruger has six points and 28 penalty minutes in 48 contests in 2017-18. He's in the middle of a three-year, $9.25 million contract, so that will probably keep him from being claimed.
Rangers place Brendan Smith on waivers 02-08-2018
Brendan Smith D NYR
The New York Rangers have put Brendan Smith on waivers.

Pierre LeBrun on Twitter
That's bad to the point of embarrassing given that he's in the first season of a four-year, $17.4 million contract. He has eight points and 69 penalty minutes in 44 contests in 2017-18. The blueliner has also averaged 17:10 minutes per game, which isn't ideal for a player of his pay grade, but also not shocking.

Goal drought frustrates Nikita Kucherov 02-08-2018
Nikita Kucherov RW TB
Nikita Kucherov's goalless drought has reached 11 straight games.

Tampa Bay Times
Kucherov is clearly frustrated that he hasn't found the back of the net since Jan. 7. "This is not fun, definitely," he said. "I wish I would score. I think I'm in that kind of period where whatever I do doesn't work." Coach Jon Cooper has encouraged Kucherov to shoot more often, but the Lightning winger said he won't fire away if he can set up a teammate. He has contributed seven assists during his goal slump. Kucherov had six shots on target against Edmonton his last outing and he will look to get the monkey off his back Thursday versus Vancouver.

Nate Thompson C LA
Nate Thompson (lower body) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against Nashville.

Ottawa Citizen

Stone has been sidelined for the last eight games.

Report: NYR hope for big return in Nash trade 02-08-2018
Rick Nash LW NYR
The New York Rangers' asking price for Rick Nash is reportedly high.

NBC Sports Bay Area
The Rangers would like to get a first-round pick, an addition draft pick, and a prospect in exchange for Nash. That's a lot given that Nash's expiring contract makes him potential a rental and not a great one at that. Certainly Nash is a goal scoring threat, but we haven't seen a lot of that in recent years. He has 15 goals and 25 points in 53 contests in 2017-18 and hasn't surpassed the 40-point mark since 2014-15, albeit in part due to injuries. When push comes to shove though, the Rangers might end up settling for Nash if the market for him isn't good enough to get that asking price.
Isles not interested in trading John Tavares 02-08-2018
John Tavares C NYI
Islanders GM Garth Snow made it clear that he won't trade John Tavares.

New York Newsday
Some people might argue that the Islanders should be shopping Tavares given that he could walk away for nothing as an unrestricted free agent this summer. That's not an argument that seems to resonate with Snow. "I'm not trading John, I've stated that," Snow said. "I know I sound like a broken record but any conversations I have with John or his agent (Pat Brisson) remain private." Obviously the Islanders' hope is that they can sign Tavares to a new contract. Meanwhile, Tavares has only increased his value by scoring 27 goals and 59 points in 54 games this season. Snow also added that he doesn't see the point in surrendering top draft picks for players right now given the Islanders' position in the standings. If the season ended today, the Islanders would finish just shy of a playoff berth.
Will Eddie Lack get the face the Flames? 02-08-2018
Eddie Lack G NJ
It will be interesting to see if Eddie Lack gets to start Thursday against his former team, the Calgary Flames.

The Bergen Record
Lack began the season with Calgary, but he only ended up making two starts and four total appearances with them before the Flames put him on waivers on Nov. 23. He went unclaimed and was sent to the minors. The Devils acquired him in December, but didn't summon him until Feb. 4 due to Cory Schneider's groin injury. He made his first appearance with the Devils on Tuesday in relief of Keith Kinkaid. Lack would like a chance to face the Flames and he wasn't happy with the fact that they hardly used him there. "Honestly, I don't even think it had anything to do with Smitty," Lack said, referring to Calgary starter Mike Smith. "He played really, really good but I can't see why you can't have two goalies going. That's something that these guys [the Devils] have done good here. They've got two goalies going and both are getting wins."
Kyle Clifford nets his second goal of 2017-18 02-08-2018
Kyle Clifford LW LA
Kyle Clifford found the back of the net in Los Angeles' 5-2 win over Edmonton Wednesday night.

Los Angeles Times
It was a rare offensive contribution for Clifford, who has two goals and three points in 22 games this season. He can be a decent source of penalty minutes and hits, but that's about all you're going to get out of him.
Kings scratch Marian Gaborik on Wednesday 02-08-2018
Marian Gaborik LW OTT
Marian Gaborik has been a healthy scratch for two straight games.

Los Angeles Times
Gaborik has missed plenty of time over the years due to injuries, but he typically has gotten to play when healthy. He hasn't been bad this season either, though his seven goals and 14 points in 28 contests certainly isn't anything remarkable either. At this stage, there isn't much reason to own Gaborik in standard leagues.
Kuemper posts 2nd longest LAK shutout streak 02-08-2018
Darcy Kuemper G LA
Darcy Kuemper's shutout streak lasted 193:58 minutes.

LAKingsInsider
Kuemper posted back-to-back shutouts before surrendering a goal to Leon Draisaitl at 3:28 of the second period Wednesday night. As previously noted, Los Angeles still went on to earn a 5-2 win while Kuemper made 25 saves. Kuemper's shutout streak was the second longest in the franchise's history, behind Jonathan Quick's mark of 202:11 minutes set in 2011.
Mike Cammalleri on a three-game point streak 02-08-2018
Mike Cammalleri LW EDM
Mike Cammalleri registered an assist in Edmonton's 5-2 loss to Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Edmonton Sun
Cammalleri started the season with the Kings, but was dealt to Edmonton in exchange for Jussi Jokinen. Cammalleri hasn't been a major contributor for the most part this season, but lately he's seen some ice time on the top line with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. That seems to be helping as Cammalleri is on a three-game point streak.
Francis weighs in on Jeff Skinner's drought 02-08-2018
Jeff Skinner LW CAR
Jeff Skinner's goal scoring slump hasn't concerned Hurricanes GM Ron Francis.

Raleigh News & Observer
Skinner has just four goals over his last 27 games. "He's been certainly snakebit," Francis acknowledged. "It's not for lack of opportunity or lack of chances. The game coming out of the (NHL bye week) in Detroit he probably could have scored five. He had seven or eight great chances and nothing was going in for him. It's not like he's not getting the opportunities, though his shooting percentage ... is not his career norm. I tend to worry about guys when they're not getting opportunities. I keep saying at some point it's going to turn around for him. He scored 37 last year. Hopefully one or two go in for him and scorers get hot, right?" Skinner's shooting percentage is down to 7.9 compared to last season's 13.2% and his career average of 10.7%. However, his shots per game is roughly on par with 2016-17 when he finished with 37 goals.
GM Ron Francis believes in Scott Darling 02-08-2018
Scott Darling G CAR
Hurricanes GM Ron Francis still believes in Scott Darling.

Raleigh News & Observer
The Hurricanes acquired Darling back in April and quickly signed him to a four-year, $16.6 million contract under the belief that he would be their number one goaltender. That hasn't worked out as Darling has posted a 9-14-6 record, 3.06 GAA, and .892 save percentage in 30 games. Lately it's been more accurate to refer to Cam Ward as Carolina's starting goaltender, but Francis offered Darling a vote of confidence. "He's been a better goaltender in the past than he has been this year. Some of that is the adjustment to being No. 1, some of that is adjustment to a new system, some of it is the ups and downs of the season. I think he's tracking back in the right direction," Francis said. If Darling is bouncing back, it hasn't showed up statistically yet. He's lost his last three games and has allowed at least three goals in all of those contests.
Michael Frolik reaches 700-game milestone 02-08-2018
Michael Frolik RW CAL
Michael Frolik will be playing in his 700th game on Thursday.

Calgary Sun
"I would never have imagined this would happen," said Frolik on being on the brink of 700 games. "Obviously, the biggest goal is 1,000 but every number is pretty cool. When I started my career (in North America) I would never thought it would happen. But it's a nice thing to accomplish. Hopefully I have a few more seasons in me and hopefully it can be here in Calgary." Frolik is still just 29-years-old and is a solid contributor, so as long as he can stay healthy it's reasonable to believe that he will reach the 1,000-game mark. Whether or not he'll get there in Calgary is another matter entirely. He is signed for another two campaigns after this one, but in order for him to get to that milestone with the Flames, he'll need to eventually agree to an extension.
Alex Iafallo lights lamp in home victory 02-08-2018
Joe Gambardella C EDM
Alex Iafallo posted a goal with a plus-1 rating in Wednesday's 5-2 victory against the Oilers. Iafallo also chipped in with a blocked shot across his 15:57 of ice time, and the center is now surprisingly averaging a point-per-game across his past four outings since the All-Star break. If you need fantasy help in deeper pools, strike while the iron is hot. Iafallo is also a decent low-cost DFS option while running hot.
Adrian Kempe buries 16th goal of the season 02-08-2018
Adrian Kempe LW LA
Adrian Kempe posted an even-strength goal while finishing with a plus-1 rating in Wednesday's 5-2 victory against Edmonton. It wasn't all great for Kempe, as he was beaten nine times out of 10 in the faceoff circle. It's a good thing not many fantasy pools reward or penalize the category. He has posted 16 goals (one on the power play) with 26 points and a plus-13 rating through 52 contests. If you need forward help in deeper pools Kempe can certainly help.
Trevor Lewis picks up two more points 02-08-2018
Trevor Lewis RW LA
Trevor Lewis finished with two assists and a plus-1 rating in Wednesday's 5-2 win against the Oilers. Lewis has posted a goal with three points over the past two outings with a plus-2 rating. He has closed to within just one point of his previous career high of 25 points set during the 2014-15 campaign. Despite the uptick in points since the All-Star break he is still only worth a look in the deepest of fantasy pools at this point.
All Paul LaDue does is win 02-08-2018
Paul LaDue D LA
Paul LaDue drew back into the lineup Wednesday against the Edmonton Oilers and he notched a power-play goal while finishing with a plus-1 rating. LaDue's power-play marker put the team ahead for good, giving him two game-winning tallies in the past eight days. Despite the pair of game-winning tallies he is still the seventh rearguard in L.A. and you never know if he is going to draw into the lineup or be in street clothes in the press box. If he keeps coming up with timely goals, however, that might change.
