Duncan Keith chips in with an assist in win 03-06-2018
Duncan Keith D CHI
Duncan Keith posted an assist with a plus-1 rating, two blocked shots and a hit in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime win against Colorado. Keith has managed just one goal so far through 67 games, but he has piled up 28 assists to go along with 33 hits and 124 blocked shots. It has been an ugly season for Keith's fantasy owners in leagues penalizing negative rating, too, as he currently sits with an unsavory minus-17. In pools which do not use plus/minus, Keith has been much better.
Kari Lehtonen allowed 1 goal in loss to NSH 03-06-2018
Kari Lehtonen G DAL
Kari Lehtonen allowed one goal on 33 shots in Tuesday's 2-0 loss to the Nashville Predators. Lehtonen blanked the Predators for over 40 minutes, but he eventually conceded the game-winning goal to Ryan Hartman early in the third period. The 34-year-old has dropped three straight decisions. He has an 11-7-2 record with a 2.30 goals-against-average and a .919 save percentage this season. Lehtonen will continue to get the majority of the starts while Ben Bishop is out with an injury.
Pekka Rinne picks up 7th shutout vs. DAL 03-06-2018
Pekka Rinne G NAS
Pekka Rinne stopped all 26 shots he faced in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Dallas Stars. The shutout was his seventh of the season, which matches Tampa Bay's Andrei Vasilevskiy for first in that category. Rinne has won seven games in a row and nine of his last 10. He has a 36-9-4 record with a 2.29 goals-against-average and a .928 save percentage this season. Rinne will continue to be one of the top fantasy players at his position down the stretch.
Jonathan Toews buries game-winner in OT 03-06-2018
Jonathan Toews C CHI
Jonathan Toews scored the game-winning goal in overtime with an assist and a plus-2 rating Tuesday against the Avalanche. After a five-game scoreless skid, Toews is starting to pick up the pace again. He has two goals with five points across the past three outings, including a pair of game-winning tallies. It's been a down year for the Blackhawks, and Toews is currently on pace for just 55 points, which would be his lowest total across a full season since he had 54 points in his rookie season of 2007-08.
Stars shut out by Predators on Tuesday 03-06-2018
Jamie Benn LW DAL
Jamie Benn finished Tuesday's 2-0 loss to the Nashville Predators with a minus-2 rating. This game was tied at zero heading into the third period, but the Preds managed to get the game-winner from Ryan Hartman before Nick Bonino added an empty netter. Benn finished the game with a team-high four shots on goal in 20:22 of ice time. The Stars captain is up to 22 goals and 58 points in 67 games this season.
Ryan Hartman scores in win over Stars 03-06-2018
Ryan Hartman RW NAS
Ryan Hartman scored a goal in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Dallas Stars. Hartman gave the Predators a 1-0 lead at the 5:33 mark of the third period. He's now picked up a point in three of his five games since joining Nashville at the trade deadline. Hartman finished the night with a plus-1 rating, two penalty minutes and one shot on goal in 15:00 of ice time. The 23-year-old has 10 goals and 28 points in 62 games this season. Nick Bonino added an empty-netter before the end of the game.
Jean-Francois Berube picks up overtime win 03-06-2018
Jean-Francois Berube G CHI
Jean-Francois Berube turned aside all but one of the 34 shots he faced in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime victory against the Avalanche. Berube was very sharp against an above-average offense, as Colorado entered ranked 10th in the NHL in goal scoring. Goaltending has been an adventure in the Windy City this season since Corey Crawford went down, but with the exception of an ugly effort on March 1 in San Jose, Berube has done a decent job in his other four appearances when called upon. Still, he is best left to the waiver wire in most fantasy pools at this point.
Roberto Luongo allows 5 goals in OTL to TB 03-06-2018
Roberto Luongo G FLA
Roberto Luongo allowed five goals on 33 shots in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. Andrei Vasilevskiy G TB

The Bolts owned 2-0, 3-1 and 4-2 leads, but they still allowed the Panthers to come back in this one. Brayden Point found the back of the net in overtime to give the Lightning the victory over the state rivals. Vasilevskiy is now 5-0-1 in his last six outings. He owns a 39-12-3 record with a 2.44 goals-against-average and a .925 save percentage this season.
Patrik Nemeth blocks three more shots 03-06-2018
Patrik Nemeth D COL
Patrik Nemeth finished Tuesday's game at Chicago scoreless with a minus-1 rating, but he posted three blocked shots with a hit. Nemeth is among the league leaders with 147 blocked shots through 42 outings, and his plus-25 rating is rather pleased to fantasy owners as well. However, he remains useful only in the deepest of fantasy pools since he still has just three goals and 14 total points.
Nathan MacKinnon point streak at six games 03-06-2018
Nathan MacKinnon C COL
Nathan MacKinnon finished with a power-play goal in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime road setback against the Blackhawks. MacKinnon was on the ice for both of Chicago's even-strength markers, so he also was saddled with an ugly minus-2 rating. While he added three shots on goal with a hit across 21:52 of ice time, he also had a brutal night in the faceoff circle with just four wins in 14 chances. The All-Star is working on a six-game point streak, posting seven goals with 13 points and a plus-3 rating. He'll try to extend the streak in Columbus on Thursday.
Nick Bjugstad scores hat trick in OTL to TB 03-06-2018
Nick Bjugstad RW FLA

Bjugstad's goals cut the Panthers' deficits to 2-1, 3-2 and 4-3 before Vincent Trocheck finally tied the game at four. Unfortunately for Florida, Brayden Point netted the game-winning goal in the extra frame. Bjugstad finished the game with a plus-3 rating, seven shots on goal and two hits in 19:05 of ice time. The 25-year-old has 14 goals and 38 points in 64 games this season. Bjugstad has seven points during a four-game point streak.
Yanni Gourde picks up 2G, 1A in OT win vs FLA 03-06-2018
Yanni Gourde C TB
Yanni Gourde scored two goals and one assist in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime win over the Florida Panthers. Gourde opened the scoring at the 10:38 mark of the opening period. He also set up J.T. Miller's tally just over two minutes later and he then gave the Bolts a 3-1 lead early in the second frame. Gourde finished the game with a plus-2 rating, three shots on goal and one hit in 18:40 of ice time. The 26-year-old has 24 goals and 53 points in 67 games this season. He's accumulated 10 points in his last nine contests. Alex Killorn and Brayden Point (game-winner) also found the back of the net for the Lightning.

Semyon Varlamov on short end of OT loss 03-06-2018
Semyon Varlamov G COL
Semyon Varlamov allowed two goals on 27 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime setback at Chicago. Varlamov did a pretty good job, recovering after an early goal allowed to Erik Gustafsson in the first period. However, Jonathan Toews beat him in the extra session to deal the goaltender a hard-luck loss. While Varlamov has been pretty outstanding at home, posting a 12-4-2 record with a 2.31 goals-against average (GAA) through 20 games, he is now just 6-10-2 with a 3.32 GAA in 20 road appearances. Keep that in mind if he is tabbed to start Thursday's game in Columbus.
Joonas Korpisalo ends 3-game losing skid 03-06-2018
Joonas Korpisalo G CLB
Joonas Korpisalo turned aside 37 of 38 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Vegas Golden Knights. Korpisalo got the start in tonight's game because Sergei Bobrovsky was out with an illness. He gave up the game-tying goal (1-1) early in the second period, but he was perfect the rest of the night. The 23-year-old has a 6-7-0 record with a 3.13 goals-against-average and a .905 save percentage this season. The win put an end to his own personal three-game losing skid.
Henrik Lundqvist allows 2 goals in L to WPG 03-06-2018
Henrik Lundqvist G NYR
Henrik Lundqvist allowed two goals on 33 shots in Tuesday's 3-0 loss to the Winnipeg Jets. The only Jet to beat Lundqvist tonight was Patrik Laine. This was the Rangers netminder's first regulation loss in four games. King Henrik owns a 25-22-5 record with a 2.88 goals-against-average and a .916 save percentage this season. He won't carry much fantasy value down the stretch because the Rangers probably won't win many games.
Steve Mason blanks NYR in return to lineup 03-06-2018
Steve Mason G WPG
Steve Mason turned aside all 31 shots he faced in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the New York Rangers. Mason hadn't played since Jan. 9, but he looked solid against a rebuilding Rangers team. It's encouraging to see him play so well after a long battle with a concussion. The Jets goalie owns a 4-6-1 record with a 3.18 goals-against-average and a .906 save percentage this season. He'll continue to serve as Connor Hellebuyck's backup goalie, which means he has no fantasy value.
Charlie Lindgren allows 6 goals in loss to NJ 03-06-2018
Charlie Lindgren G MON
Charlie Lindgren allowed six goals on 33 shots in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the New Jersey Devils. The Canadiens got off to a sluggish start, as they fell behind 4-0 in the first period. It's entirely plausible that he'll surpass his career-high of 82 points before the campaign is done. Nolan Patrick has done well on the power play 03-06-2018
Andrei Mironov D COL
Nolan Patrick has accounted for the Flyers' last three power-play goals.

NBC Sports Philadelphia
To put that in perspective, the last time a Philadelphia player other than Patrick scored on the power play was Feb. 13. That said, Patrick has been occupying Wayne Simmonds' spot on the top power-play unit, so it will be interesting to see what happens once Simmonds is healthy. We might not have to wait long for an answer as Simmonds could be back this week. As for Patrick, he has 10 goals and 20 points in 57 games this season, which obviously isn't great even for a rookie. Even still, there's been enough positives with his game, especially in the second half, to make us feel optimistic about 2018-19 being a big leap forward for him offensively.

That was Doughty's fourth unsportsmanlike conduct penalty of the 2017-18 campaign, so it has been an ongoing issue for him. Doughty admitted on Monday that it can be hard for him to hold his tongue when he disagrees with a call. "Obviously, I kind of do it all the time, so it's kind of been a repetitive thing that I've been trying to fix and, yeah, obviously, I wish I didn't do it," Doughty said. He went on to say that he should stay even keel regardless of what he thinks of the call.

Milan Lucic's goal drought got to him 03-06-2018
Milan Lucic LW EDM
Milan Lucic admitted that his prolonged goal scoring drought was bothering him.

Edmonton Sun
Lucic went 29 games without a goal before finally ending that drought on Monday. "I think it was pretty evident how frustrated I was," said Lucic. "Slamming doors a bunch of times, breaking sticks, you name it. It was a tough stretch, that's for sure. It was a really rough time to go through. Stretches like that, when you come out of them, sometimes it can make you better. You hope that happens moving forward." With 10 goals and 32 points in 66 contests, it's hard to see this season ending up as anything other than an overall disappointment. All we can hope for is that 2018-19 is a bounce back campaign.
Hurricanes likely to lean on Cam Ward 03-06-2018
Cam Ward G CAR
Cam Ward is likely to play in the vast majority of Carolina's final 16 games.

Raleigh News & Observer
Honestly, that says less about Ward and more about Scott Darling. Ward has been an okay, but not great option this season with his 19-10-4 record, 2.62 GAA, and .909 save percentage, but Darling has been a big disappointment. With so little time left and the Hurricanes still in a battle for a playoff spot, the Hurricanes don't have the luxury of giving Darling more chances. That said, the Hurricanes do still have some back-to-back sets ahead of them, so while Ward might end up starting on both ends in one or two of them, Darling will still be needed to start at least a couple more times this season.

Derek Grant's surprised the Ducks this season 03-06-2018
Derek Grant C ANA
Derek Grant has been a pleasant surprise for the Ducks this season.

Orange County Register
Grant was a journeyman center that the Ducks inked to a one-year deal to provide the franchise with some extra depth given that Ryan Kesler wouldn't be ready for the start of the campaign. Further injuries occasionally pushed Grant into a more offensive role though and he's managed to hold his own with eight goals and 20 points in 51 contests. Keep in mind that he had no goals and seven assists in 86 career NHL games coming into this season. "He's a guy that's come in and played in a checking role," Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. "Played a fourth-line role. We've moved him up in the lineup, in offensive roles. You got to take your hat off to a guy like Granter for what he's accomplished and where he started. The respect he's earned not only from the coaching staff and management but from his teammates." It'll be interesting to see if the Ducks re-sign Grant given what he's done this season.

John Tavares posted a goal with an assist and a game-high eight shots on goal in Monday's 4-3 overtime loss at Vancouver. Tavares has cooled off recently, posting just one goal and three points with a minus-4 rating across the past seven outings. Maybe he is being distracted by his impending free agency, maybe the losing by the Islanders is starting to weigh on him or perhaps he is mentally not there while considering signing a long-term deal with the club before the end of the deal. Either way, something is amiss.
