"Tiredness is something that I probably never faced before," Vasilevskiy said. "I mean, 50-plus games. When you play in 20-plus games, it's like you think, 'Oh, I'm good, I can play 60-plus.' But now when I'm on 50-plus, I'm like, 'That's tough.' So that's why sometimes I'm probably not as sharp, like probably the first half of the season. That's why I have to adjust and be on the top of my game." That might explain why Vasilevskiy has a 3.16 GAA and .911 save percentage in 14 contests since the All-Star Game after looking like a major contender for the Vezina Trophy in the first half of the season. NBC Sports Bay Area
Cheechoo's career was an interesting one to say the least. At his height in the NHL, he scored 56 goals and 93 points in 82 contests in 2005-06 and that goal total is still the Sharks' record for a single season. However, he declined rapidly after that, to 37 goals in 2006-07, 23 markers in 2007-08, and then just 12 goals in his final season with San Jose back in 2008-09. Still not even 30-years-old, Cheechoo tried to turn things around in Ottawa, but it didn't work out. He hasn't played in the NHL since 2010, but he went to the KHL in 2013-14 and proved to be effective in that league for four seasons. Jeff Skinner LW CAR
Jeff Skinner has reached the 40-point milestone.

Raleigh News & Observer
Skinner got there by registering an assist on Tuesday in his 67 game of the season. Unfortunately, he's also now gone seven contests without finding the back of the net as he remains stuck at 20 goals. Skinner has surpassed the 30-goal milestone on three separate occasions and finished 2016-17 with 37 markers, but it looks like 2017-18 will be recorded as a down season. That said, goals have a tendency to come in bunches and Skinner might have at least one more big hot streak left in him this campaign. The Hurricanes could certainly use it as they attempt to claw their way into the playoffs.
Mike Smith has been frustrated with injury 03-07-2018
Mike Smith G CAL
Mike Smith (lower body) said there's been a lot of frustration with his injury.

Calgary Sun
Smith hasn't been able to play since Feb. 11 due to his injury. ""It's been an injury that I haven't had before, a very unique injury," Smith said. "When you haven't gone through it, it's hard to know exactly when is the right time to start skating, to start moving, to start practicing. That's been the hardest thing. If it was something that I've been through before, it would be easy to say, 'It's going to be this long and I should be ready to go.' But this one has been a little bit unique, so it's been challenging, for sure." Smith did practice with the Flames on Tuesday, which is obviously a great sign. We don't know when he'll return, but if he's healthy enough to practice then perhaps it will be in the not too distant future.
