Overview

Fantasy Cup® Circuit 1 is a fantasy racing contest which is based on accumulated driver statistics from 18 professional auto races beginning with the race scheduled for Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Daytona Speedway. To participate in all 18 weeks of the Contest, entries must be received no later than the green flag at the start of the race scheduled to run on February 18th.

Prizes are awarded at the end of the Contest to the top 25 overall teams and to the top 4 teams in each league with the highest average number of team points per race based on each team's best 14 race weeks. Only the best 14 of 18 race weeks are used to determine prizes. There are also league, weekly, bonus, and clubhouse cash prizes awarded in the Contest. The cash grand prize to the overall winner is $10,000.00.

All points are awarded based on the Fantasy Cup Points that are awarded after each race based on each driver's race finish and laps led. Teams are ranked within their league and ranked overall by averaging the number of team points per race. The team with the highest race average is first and the team with the lowest race average is last. An accumulated total is not used.

Neither the Contest nor the Contest website are sponsored or endorsed by either NASCAR, any race track operator or any sponsor of any of the races.

All entries will be randomly assigned to a 25-team league.

SELECT TEAM

Overview

During signup, you select an initial team of 8 drivers within the constraints of the initial $10,000,000 Team Net Worth. You will have the opportunity to trade drivers (select new drivers to replace existing drivers on your team) every week.

The Team Net Worth each week is the salary cap for all drivers on your team. Your Team Value can never exceed your Team Net Worth. The Team Value and Team Net Worth will change after the first 2 race weeks, because CDM Sports adjusts drivers' salaries after race week 2. The new drivers' salaries and Team Value will appear on the driver selection page of the website when team owners select drivers for race week 3. Thereafter, new driver salaries and Team Values will appear on the driver selection page prior to race weeks 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, and 17, because CDM Sports will adjust drivers' salaries prior to each of those weeks.

Please Note: drivers selected by you remain on your team until you decide to modify your team by trading drivers.

Driver Selection

To make driver selections each week, click on the Pick/Trade Driver link on the navigation bar of the Contest website.

You can select listed or unlisted drivers at any time before or during the Contest. All unlisted drivers are initially assigned a $300,000 salary. To request that an unlisted driver be added to the salary file in order to be selected, click here to email us or call 1.866.918.7223 (1.866.918.RACE).

Team Value, Bank Balance and Net Worth

At the beginning of the Contest (for weeks 1 and 2) your Team Net Worth is $10,000,000. Any money not spent by you on your drivers' salaries appears as your Team Bank Balance. The sum of your Team Value and your Bank Balance is your Team Net Worth.

You can trade drivers weekly, but drivers' salaries are only adjusted after 2 race weeks. Before weeks 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, and 17 of the Contest, drivers' salaries are adjusted by CDM Sports based on drivers' performances during the previous two races (with the exception of the adjustment in week 3 which is based only off the first race at Daytona).

When you trade drivers, your Team Value cannot exceed your Team Net Worth.

Example for Week 1:

  • Team Value:                $9,500,000
  • Team Bank Balance:   $500,000
  • Team Net Worth:         $10,000,000

Example for Week 3 (after drivers' salaries are adjusted by CDM Sports):

  • Team Value:                $10,715,000
  • Team Bank Balance:   $105,000
  • Team Net Worth:         $10,820,000

Each time that you trade (change) drivers during the Contest, your Bank Balance will change.

Total Team Value, Bank Balance, and Net Worth are all displayed on the driver selection page of the Contest website. Click on the Pick/Trade Driver link on the navigation bar to see your updated Team Value, Bank Balance, and Net Worth.

    Drivers' Salary Adjustments

Starting with the 3rd race of the Contest, driver salaries are updated. The updated drivers' salaries will appear on the website on Mondays at 1:00 PM CT (provided the race for the week has completed). Some drivers' salaries may not change from the previous week. Click here to review the schedule for updated driver salaries.

After completion of race week numbers 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, the drivers' salaries will be adjusted based on their performances in the two prior races (with the exception of the adjustment in week 3 which is based only on the first race at Daytona).

Salary adjustments are made by CDM Sports based on each driver's average finish position in his two previous races (except for week 3, as noted above). If a driver does not race in the two races prior to the adjustment, the average finish position is his finish position in the race in which he did race. If the driver did not race in either of the two races prior to the adjustment, his salary will remain the same. All adjustments (up or down) are calculated by CDM Sports utilizing the driver's average finish position and previous salary. All adjustments during the Contest are made using these same criteria. However, no driver salary is ever adjusted to an amount less than $300,000.

IMPORTANT: No penalty will be assessed against a driver who fails to qualify for a race or who qualifies for a race but does not race.
